I have been with ADT for over 10 years. I am now going with another security provider. I attempted to call 3x and conducted 4 chats with live agents. When I tell them I am trying to cancel service, calls were either abandoned or disconnected. Hold time was over 1.5 hours, first call, 48 min 2nd call and now over 30 mins on 3rd attempt. I have had ADT HOME SECURITY SYSTEM for over 20 years, and up until now I have been satisfied with their service,. I could always talk to human representative until my recent unsatisfactory experience. My system has not worked for this past week so, I call ADT **************** only to hear a taped message that the wait time would be ***** minutes, or option 2 go through automated problem solving system. We had ADT install video cameras on Monday. By Sunday, we had "exceeded" our limit of clips for the month. Deleting the clips doesn't affect the limit. We didn't know we had a limit when we signed up and how we should have set up the cameras to minimize clips. We went over the limit because it recorded parked cars on the street. No one told me about the issue and how to resolve it when I set it up. Furthermore, it doesn't automatically restart at the first of the month. I have to do some manual intervention. I have not done any business with them. I am posting this review because I recently moved into a new house and their sales reps have continuously visited my home, knocked on my door multiple times and rang my ring doorbell. They come during the day, in the evening and on the weekends to harass people. I've emailed their office to ask them to stop multiple times and they just apologize and say they'll take my address off their list but the lady still comes! It's harassment and annoying.

I wish I would have consulted BBB customer reviews before becoming a customer. I have been a customer for well over 10 years but they have slowly transitioned to putting the onus on the customer to be the technician and maintain their own systems. Ive made 3 calls to ADT asking for a technician to come out for two different things. The first was the sensor on my front door of which Ive been bypassing for at least 3 months because the panel reads door is open when it is closed. After a couple years with the company, i signed the rate lock contract for 48mths. After that my father was diagnosed with cancer and passed away. I could no longer afford that house and was going under financially. I was forced to sell that house. Calling to cancel the service i was told that i would have to pay for the reminder of the contract. I was able to work with them a bit to lower that cost. I will have to pay for service at a property that i no longer own for the next 2 months until i reach the 1year **** of that c... read more

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER ******************** NOBODY ANSWERS THE PHONES CALLED USING TWO DIFFERENT PHONES AT THE SAME TIME . NOT LIKE IT WAS 15 YEARS AGO BUYER BEWARE SIGN UP AT YOUR OWN RISK PLEASE CANCEL SERVICES NOW.

They put you on hold for an hour when you ask to cancel service, hoping you will hang up. They increase the monthly service $10 a month every year. The batteries they install for the outside sirens have to be replaced every year in ******* due to the heat.
