13 Year customer moving into a senior living center. Paid bill every month on time never missed a payment. Tried to cancel service because house is sold. Representative said I owed $800 plus dollars for breaking a contract that *** NEVER signed or seen. Insisted I send in proof that Im moving! I am a senior with health issues and speaking with the representative made my blood pressure go up!!! Worst company ever. October 2016. sales guy came to my house to offer an alarm system package, after some negotiations we agree on a contract for TWO years in which the alarm system will be paid off) and after that the service fees will be only for around 20 bucks a month (he said). After two years I called them, and they said my contract was for 5 years instead. I paid 75 dollars for over five years to these liars. not openly telling the truth upfront thinking we are under a year to year contract only to find out it's a 36 month contract and you can't cancel. I am 80 years old, I was in my home I had a heart attack lol. ****** count, so I'm unable to take care of the house any longer. ADT is a HORRIBLE security system!!!!!!!!!!! I was never able to create an account since online became available!!!!!!!!!ADT has horrible cancellation services!!!!!!! I have tried to cancel my services since I am moving and they refuse just to cancel my services. I've been a customer of ADT/Brinks for 27+ years and trying to cancel my monthly service. I am under no contact and it is just impossible. I call and wait 1+ hours on the phone 3+ times and still get a bill a month later. I have talked to ******, *****, someone else and now ****** to try and cancel and it's still not working. Will call again tomorrow. They won't let me talk to a manager to try and get this resolved. Never will I use ADT in a new home again. Terrible customer Service - Long hold times (1.5 Hours) to talk to a customer service rep to let them know that we are away from home for a month. We returned and the CO detector was beeping/not operating properly. We waited half hour for a rep. *****diagnosed it wasn't the battery. CO detector needs to be changed. Made appt. to do that. The CO detector didn't arrive. Tech called and didn't know it hadn't arrived. Another hour wasted and time away from work. I purchased ADT security for my home as I am a veteran and I am 100% disabled. I was told my security equipment was free but found out they are charging me for everything. I also found out my contract is 6 years . When the installer came out I really could not read anything clear as I have severe nerve damage in my eyes as I advise him. Tried contacting ADT corporate but they never get back to me and forget customer service. If they treat a disabled vet like this I wonder how they treat others.

My mom called in to cancel our security system through monitronics that was bought by ADT. The security system hasnt worked in over a year. When she called in to cancel they locked her into a 5 year contract. My mom doesnt know tech and has been paying for a service even to this day does not work at all. Agents are trained to strong arm clients and constantly talk in circles to con their clients to signing up for these ridiculous terms. We have been ADT customers for about 15 years. We recently moved and decided to stay with adt, big MISTAKE!!!First they charged us $808 for early cancellation. How is that early cancellation! Then they refunded us back. When the sales lady was at our house and gave us a price for what we wanted, we decided to yo ahead and paid everything in full.
