I have been with ADT security for over three years. But when I requested the service opt-out, they put me on hold for over 1 hour. The company used the tricks ten years ago to have customers give up the cancellation due to the long on-hold time. It was a terrible experience with the company, and I will not consider ADT again.
Still waiting for them to correct, complete my security update? Actually they installed their panel and omitted connections of several existing detectors. We had to discover this.They didn't point it out. When it was discovered they said they were compatible. REALLY? They installed a hybrid panel which would take some of the sensors. Beware if you switch to them you could have less security and not know it.
I want to start off by redirecting anyone who is thinking about getting blue by adt services please take notes this company or whatever name you want to call it , is a very dishonest, love of money driven, that has been nothing but heart ache. I attempted to ADT my service with ADT. They kept harassing me with different discounts. I just wanted my service canceled. I was on the phone 1/2 just to get my service canceled.
I wish I had done better due diligence on ADT before contracting with them for my security and the Alarm.com smart system. Cable and phone companies can be difficult can be difficult to deal with at times but nothing like ADT. Caution, do not use ADT under any circumstances. They lock you into a three year contract, give you obsolete equipment and then wont provide service to fix a system thats not working. We were with ADT for almost 10 years. Every year the price went up with no reason given. When we finally went with another company we have had almost 3 months of trouble. We sent them an email on 08/29/2023 stating we are cancelling their service. We made sure we cancelled any further charges to our credit card. On 09/13/2023 we called ADT to verify cancellation. ADT makes it really hard for their customers to cancel. I finished my two-year contract with them and went to a month-to-month. After moving out of my condo in January 2023, I contacted ADT to cancel the services. They never canceled the services and were debiting my credit card for $38.00 monthly. I had ADT services for almost 10 years. When you first get service, you're locked into a contract for 2 - 3 years, then it transitions month to month. At year 8.5, I moved from ******* to MI, I tried to transfer my service. I was told that I could not transfer it, so I would need to cancel and open a new account. After about 1.5 year in MI, I'm moving again to a safer neighborhood, and when I go to cancel, what do you know, I'm now locked in a contract since the service was 'technically' canceled. After 3 phone calls, I cancelled my account on 10/17/23. I was told that it would be cancelled on 11/17/23 because I had to give then 30 days' notice. The company withdrew payment on 11/20/23 stating that they bill in advance. I don't even have an ADT system connected in my home. No refund was given. I would never recommend ADT to anyone after dealing with them on this issue.
