Ackerman uses completely deceptive business practices. I entered into a ONE YEAR agreement knowing I would be moving in a little over a year. NOW 15 months later they will not let me cancel the contract unless I pay for another year of service and send them cancellation notice by certified mail with a check. Use ANY other service provider and NEVER enter into a contract with Ackerman.

I have been a longstanding Ackerman customer, well over 10 years! Just recently I experienced problems making online payments for which I have done for many years. Apparently there was a new payment system in place. I called the customer service department and made a payment to my account. I haven't had any problems with the system, but there was a billing issue this month. I'll have to see if it's resolved next month. The thing I'm upset about is someone from there office called my dad and told him because he's been a loyal customer they would upgrade his equipment for free. When I called to verify it no one knew what I was talking about. Has anyone else been told this?

We have been with them for over 5 years. We have been getting faulty alarm every few days. They want to send tech who charges $85 per 30 mints. Customer service is not helping at all. I am still checking if they automatically renewed my contract, one person said yes, one is answering in lawyer's language! Very disappointed!
