I am very pleased with my security system upgrade. The sales CSR Valerie was very knowledgeable and provided me with prompt efficient service and information. I am very happy that I was able to meet and work with Valerie to upgrade my system. The service tech who came to install my new equipment was prompt and very professional. He gave me good instructions and answered all my questions. Overall this equipment upgrade was very pleasant.

I called Ackerman Security to cancel my mom's service due to her financial situation. Kimberlin ***** explained to me how important this service was to my 95-year-old mom. She was very patient with all my questions, and we ended the conversation with a great resolution. She set the account to be paid monthly versus annually. I was unaware that this was an option. She also gave me an added benefit that went above and beyond what I expected. Thanks Kimberlin!

I WAS an Ackerman customer for at least 18 years. Today I called to cancel because I can get monitoring with another company for much less. They told me that in order to cancel, I owe $336.51 even after I satisfied the 3 year term of the initial contract. When you sign a contract, you worry about fulfilling that initial term and then assume after that, you're month to month. The customer service representative told me that the contract automatically renews at the anniversary unless you notify them in writing 60 days prior to... read more

I contacted Ackerman regarding a "low battery" message on the key pad panel. I hadn't had the service for a year and felt it was too soon to have a battery issue. I had the pleasure of speaking with Danny ****** who was very professional and empathetic to my concern. Given the short timeframe of having the service, Danny agreed to credit my account for the amount that I paid for the battery. An excellent customer experience!

If there were zero stars that would be my rating. Like many others, I have spent many frustrating hours attempting to resolve issues with Ackerman to no avail. I received a letter threatening to turn my account over to collections as they had made many attempts to contact me etc. When I finally got through to speak to someone and I said the letter was the first I had heard of an issue - there had been NO prior attempts to reach me in any way (postal, email, phone) the rep said "that's just a form letter" and that it really d... read more

This service is almost predatory and impossible to cancel even within the allowable cancel period. I moved into a home that was previously wired with Ackerman this past November and after having an in-person consultation with the sales representative (Allen Seymour), decided to just start an account as I was told I would receive features like the ability to control the security system through an app. Unfortunately, the installation rep that came told me it was not possible with the system that was in the house and he told m... read more

I have used Ackerman for almost 20 years. I sold my house recently and now find that 2 years ago when I upgraded the system to wireless monitoring the service tech was having me sign a 5-year contract as he explained I was signing for the change in monitoring fees. Since the contract was on an iPad I was unaware of what I was signing. I'm sure the service tech got a nice commission for it. I am mortified and angry as I write this review. We were scheduled for a consultation today (Jan 27, 2020) at 6pm. My husband looked out of the window looking for the representative so he could direct him to the visitors parking. We were shocked to see the representative through our window URINATING IN OUR BUSH - IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE!!!!!! WTH, my 12 year old daughter was home, what if she looking out of the window instead of my husband. The most disrespectful experience! I'm at a loss for word!
