This has been an absolutely miserable experience that has taken far too much of my time. The customer service rep was responsive all the way up till I booked and paid, then fell off the face of the earth and immediately stopped returning my emails. When I received a bill that was ~$1,000 more than what I had been quoted I reached out asking for a price breakdown several times and have still not received a response. We had an off shoot of PACK RAT, ZIPPY MOVE, load and move 3 containers from GA to NH on May 26 and 27. As of today July 11, we still have not gotten our goods. We were charged more money for insurance while they goods sit in a warehouse because ZIPPY MOVE could find someone to deliver the containers and unload them. We were promised delivery and unload for July11 and 12. We have paid them already for the move, delivery loading and unloading. And still can't get any information when we will get our goods. I had the unfortunate experience with a cross country move recently. I had originally scheduled the move back in April of 2022. I had spoken with the city distribution/collection site manager and arranged the entire move. He contacted me via cell phone, and this was at first appreciated as a personalized service. With this manager, he scheduled my unit drop off, and pick up dates. My first clue that this would go poorly was that he did not, in fact, set up the pick up date. Location of service . *********** Fl + Beaches . Container relocation/ moving . Awful service. Driver came earlier than requested. Was so rude and short with us ; did not give us any time to move our cars from driveway . And he just left ! Stated he was too busy to wait bc he had another customer . I have waited 2 weeks for this appointment , waited only bc company did not had any drivers available earlier .. oh yes they charged me for this time too. BEWARE THIS SCAM OF A COMPANY. I hired 1800 packrat for a cross country move. I chose them over a competitor, ****, because of the lower price. My husband and I were going on a road trip in search of a new place to live and thought it would be somewhere around Tennessee. Originally I requested for my things to be sent from California to Tennessee for a total of about $3800. But eventually decided on North Carolina. Nowhere in our agreement with 1800packrat.com did it say that we may be required to store an empty container in our driveway for seven weeks more. It’s a nuisance and is creating a serious issue for scheduled remodeling of our house. The delivery of the container that sits on our driveway was made on June 8. Which by the way was one week later than promised. My issues are many: The sales team was very nice at getting your items in their possession, everything was fast- delivery and pickup quick, I was impressed at that point. I was relocating from **** *****, WA to Florida, I still needed to find a home in Florida, so I priced move from WA to ******* Florida. Worst service ever!! They promised to make our move simple and problem free but they are costing us more money than any other company. To start off they didn’t drop of our container on time (2days late) we had to rush and pack our entire house in 3 days. We lost about 300$ because we had to pay our movers. Our pick up was scheduled for the 20th and it’s now the 3rd and no answer from any one!!! Escrow closes in tomorrow and our container is still across country in someone else’s house now!! The issue has not been fully solved (We still have not received our container) but we were refunded an overcharge that was charged into my account. I have been in contact with a rep that has been keeping us up to date so that makes me feel better.
