They moved my delivery date 3 times, tried to overcharge me, and had no empathy. I would never use them again. Go with PODS. Were truly sorry to hear about your experience and the frustration caused by the delivery changes, billing issues, and lack of empathy. Thats not the standard of service we aim to provide, and we understand how important reliability and respect are during a move. Not even sure where to begin - we went through Pack Rat instead of Pods to save an about $200 (huge mistake). We had two 16 ft containers to be delivered, picked up, and then transported approx 200 miles. In my original quote, they waived storage fees on both containers to beat the Pods quote ($350 per container for two containers = $700). Despite this, they still ended up charging me the $700 anyway. August 2025 We just completed a cross country move and used Pack Rat. They showed up exactly when they said they would. This included the delivery, pick up, transport and delivery and final pick up. The price was half of the "other guys". I booked 1-800-PACKRAT for my cross-country move and was very clear from the start that I needed an exact final price for budgeting purposes. Im on a fixed income due to a service-connected disability, so sticking to the quoted price was crucial. I was quoted $3,600, which included my military veteran discount, insurance, and storage fees. This is the worst company to rent from! They tell you the biggest truck is 15 almost 16 ft, but they don't tell you, that is the size of the truck, but they don't tell you there is a gage inside the truck that is smaller and takes away about 3-4 ft all around from the sides, from. and back. This was very misleading and a lie! I did not have enough room. I had to rent a small storage. If I would have had the actual truck to pack my stuff in, all of it would have fit. We've been doing our move in three phases. The first two phases went okay. The third has been an unmitigated train wreck! We have 3 containers that are **** Apparently they're just sitting in a bad part of town, and in an unsecured parking lot. (we have trackers) The tracker hasn't moved for 2 days. We have no idea if the driver has ditched the trackers and is unloading our belongings somewhere else, or if the truck is even still there with our containers. Awful!!!! We were scheduled to receive a container yesterday between 1 oclock and 7 oclock. My husband left work early to receive the container. They still had not shown up or called us by 3 oclock at which time my husband had to cancel his doctor appointment and he called Pack Rat to get an update. They said it is still scheduled to arrive sometime before 8 oclock, but they are open until 10 oclock. My husband missed family dinner because at 6:30 we were still waiting for the container. Initially, they worked with me on the price, beating a competitor's price by quite a bit. Delivered the pod on time, picked it up on time, and all the drivers were courteous and quick. They worked with me on rescheduling payments and when and where my pod would be delivered with no problems, even reversing a payment one time that I wasn't able to make at that moment. Delivery and pickup was confirmed each time and drivers were great. Called customer service one time and the guy was super helpful and provided me with the information I was needing and then some. Overall really good experience and would definitely recommend over other higher priced competitors
