The owners opened the Birmingham restaurant after success with a couple of other locations in Florida, and just like in the Sunshine State, you'll find simple dishes made with simple ingredients. Open for lunch and brunch only, come and order some chicken and waffles and wash it down with a sweet tea, it doesn't get any more quintessentially Southern than this.

My husband I had the pleasure of having lunch at Yo Mama's Restaurant and the food was excellent. My hat is off to the owner. We enjoyed the food and great company.
Chicken and Waffles are my favorite. The chicken is juicy and delicious with the homemade syrup (yummy) and everything is hot and fresh. The meals of the day are good. The service and atmosphere is wonderful. If you have not been here you must see for yourself.
Best gluten free chicken and waffles I have ever had..... Also the only gluten free chicken and waffles I've ever had as a Celiac, BUT the food was unbelievably good all around. Staff was friendly and fun.
I actually dream about the chicken and waffles brunch on every other Saturday...Oh So Good!
I went and tried out Yo Mamas this past week. I had to wait a bit for my wings, but it was in the middle of lunch rush, and was completely understandable. They even offered me peach cobbler because of having to wait. The fried wings, ABSOLUTELY knocked my socks off. Melt in your mouth delicious! If I'm back in that area of bham again, I'll def be stopping by again. I see why it's such a hot spot to stop during lunch time � nice folks, cool atmosphere, amazing food �
I had the fried pork chop, mac and cheese, and collards; it was one of the best meals I've ever eaten! Absolutely outstanding!!!
