Woodforest will not stand by its customers after teller error. I am preparing to close my account as soon as possible after a recent debacle involving Woodforest. I recently made a purchase , by Woodforest check, for $500. The Woodforest teller erroneously cashed it for $5.00. The seller then asked for the remaining $495 to be paid in cash, which I did since the bank had made an error. When I first started out as a Woodforest customer over ten years ago I was very happy with the service and never had a problem. Over the last year CS and the bank itself has really took a turn for the worse. I have had problems with being double charged for things and they do not catch it. I have to watch my account like a hawk and now the latest goof up is over a customary debit card that every one gets with an account. When my card expired I was not sent a new one in the mail. Woorforest Bank changed the address on my personal checking account 3 months after my husband moved out, and mailed 2 of my bank statements to his mother. We had a joint account, and then each of us had a personal account for our work expenses. On May 22 the joint account was closed, and my personal account address was changed without my knowledge or consent, and the best part of all is that they sent my statements to his mothers house where there are at least 2, sometimes 3 or 4, addicts. Hi ~ I am a Woodforest customer. I have been for over 8 years. I now bank at the Woodforest bank at 1118 Silber in Houston. I always get great service, kind people to assist and answer my questions. My estranged father opened a new bank account under MY home address. I tried to have this corrected at Woodforest National Bank when I received his statements in the mail, and they ASSURED me he would no longer have access to my home address. I’ve loved my banking experience but now no one can give me a clear answer as to why my account is negative. They gave me an answer but It doesn’t make any sense and they literally contradicted themselves so I’m done.

In the beginning they use to do fine but in last 2 years they have been slipping. First they started not completing transaction as well as before. Then they started not showing your money being deposited 2 days early hich was their big thing that actually was working very well in the beginning. I completely understand banks taking steps to make sure hand written checks are valid. What I do not understand is why a bank manager would take the time to remove a check from the ATM that was deposited, accepted and approved and mail the check back to me without letting the check go through the normal process. The manager told me earlier that week she would out a 7 day hold on the check before I would receive any funds, so I took the check back to my customer and she paid cashed. -0 Fraudulent transactions took place on my account from 4/23-5/23, 3k worth of fraud every dispute and claim was denied, then told to step into the branch to see the footage to prove it was not me on 6/26/23 then told I would be refunded quickly after I proved it was not me.
