For Serious Adventure-Diners Only! – The unique combinations of flavor, texture and temperature you'll experience here makes Adega one of the most unique restaurants in Denver. Here is last night's five course tasting menu: Asparagus Confit with Grilled Tangerine, Pine Nut & Bread Salad Butter Poached Lobster with Sweet Onion Puree and Tomato-Chive Pudding Roast Breast of Poussin with Carmelized Apple Polenta Cube of Prime Ribeye with Roquefort & Bacon Twice Baked Fingerlings Passionate Chocolate (chocolate cake with passion... read more
Salty food, mediocre service and a $160 bill – Went to Adega to celebrate Valentines day. The restaurant was designed very well and speaks to an attention to detail that holds great promise for the food. Complaints: too bright (ala Denny's) and too noisy. We ordered our first course a salad and soup. The carmelized chestnut soup was good on first taste but the sweetness and flavor was tedious by the middle of the bowl. The salad, grilled hearts of romaine was too salty. The entrees: salmon and tile fish. The salmon on first ... read more
soooo bad – Myself and my husbsand enjoy going out, and we don't have a problem spending a lot of money, but adega was the worst dining experience I've had in a looong time. The service was horrible, the food was cold/luke warm, the staff was personality challenged, everything was overpriced for what you got, everything I ate was oversalted, the decor is lame...yuck yuck yuck. We will never go back.
Poor choice of restaurant – The portions were extremely small. It is very expensive for the quality and quantity of food they you get. The wine list is huge, but in general very expensive $150 plus. It is very noisy, and hard to hear your partner. They call it fine dining, but the setting is very plane. I was very disappointed in it. It appears to be a corner bar trying to be upscale. Difinatly not a place for a romantic or even charming meal.
Wonderful! – I've been to Adega several times, including once for my birthday and I have never been disappointed. Food is creative and tasty. Dessert was wonderfully presented. Can't ask for more!
Not Hungry & Won the Lottery? Eat Here. – Perhaps if I had a microscope I'd be able to see the portions on my plate. One bite and the meal was gone, so commenting on the taste is pretty impossible. Service was mediocre, and ambiance was plain. No candles on the tables, brighter lighting, and bland decor. 2 appetizers, 2 meals, and one of the cheaper bottles of wine on the menu came to over $160 for 2 people. I'd recommend dining there only if you plan on going to McDonald's on the way home.
Absolutely Wonderful Eating! – My Date and I were exhausted by the end of the night from the stimulation our tastebuds received. We had panseared fois gras w/ sweetbreads (magnificent!). I had Sable w/ orchietta pasta. For Desert I tried a 3 way Blue cheese plate w/ a tawny port. I couldn't finish the port and this meal will definitly last me a 6 months in terms of experience. Service was perfect.
Manhattan style/Manhattan prices – I have absolutely no complaints; food, service, decor, and selection were excellent, but people should know that you will indeed pay for what you get, and that is fine as long as you are aware of this beforehand.
One of Denver's very best – I have eaten at Adega twice, and both times the food was outstanding. As a NYC transplant and restaurant lover, I can say that Adega isn't just a great restaurant for Denver. This restaurant would be great in any city in this country. The veal cheeks are absolutely terrific and the seasonal menu is always creative, delicious, and beautifully presented. My one quible is with the service. The first time I had no complatints, it was knowledgeable and attentive. The second time, our server was incredi... read more
