One of the Best, so far – I have lived in this area less than a year and have tried many restaurants, but still have many more to go. So far this ranks tied with one other, Barolo Grill. We have been here several times and I have not one complaint with food, service, atmosphere, wines, price, etc. The only thing negative I can think of is that on occasion we have been unable to get a reservation when we wanted. I am holding my breath upon hearing that they are opening Mirepoix in a big hotel, that they will continue to be co... read more
Snotty – Adega is a wonderful addition to Lodo . . . too bad its maitre d' was so uppity. I was there on a Thursday night at about 7:45 (no reservations) with two friends. The maitre d' refused to seat us notwithstanding the fact that several tables were open. He claimed that he had one reservation to fill for which he had to allow "another 15-20 minutes at least" and, if they didn't show, could seat us in 30 minutes. Either Adega will hold a reservation an unprecedented amount of time (upwards of 30 minutes!) or he was scof... read more
Nice pick – We're visiting from Chicago and had a recommendation for Adega. It did not disappoint. We sat in the wine bar, but had access to the full menu. Nice relaxed atmoshpere. GREAT servers. Good food. Worth the price. Nice work Adega.
Great bar seen, okay food. – I have been to Adega five times and do not know why. The service is fair and food okay. Nothing to brag about.
Worst Service I have ever Experienced – Service was terrible. The place had 3 couples and we waited 45 minutes to get our order taken. She never asked to refill our wine or ask if our food was o.k. She also forgot our silverware. After 15 minutes, we went to the bar to get silverware. The food was great, but the $100 bill was excessive for 2 people receiving bad service. I was excited about visiting this new wine bar/restaurant in Denver. However, I was truly disappointed upon leaving.
none – Have eaten here twice. Best food in Denver, or has ever been in Denver for that matter. Comparable to fine food in New York city, SF etc.
great wine, great ambience – one of the best wine list in Denver, a bit pricey though. Ambience is great and romantic Food is above average.
For Serious Wine-O's Only – Adega proved to be an excellent place for dinner (outstanding food), but the wine selection is for serious aficionados. Sure, the sommelier will help you -- but if you're not knowledgable about wine, you may not be happy to find that the cheapest bottles are in the $75 and up range. If you can ante up, Adega's a great place for a date; but for a wine place more accessible to the novice, go around the corner to Trios Enoteca (but not for dinner).
Want to feel pampered? – What a concept: great food, incredible wine selection, nice music, beautiful & comfortable atmosphere and NO SMOKING!!! Can't get better than that for anyone like me who cares about their health even when they want to party. The staff is extremely well-trained and friendly, with enough hovering to serve, but not interrupt.
