Everything I hoped for, but.... – Recently had dinner here for first time; was hoping the food would live up to the raves. It did. All items were great - perfectly cooked, flavors balanced, beautifully plated. Wines by the glass were impressive. Service was good - not as polished as the surroundings, but perfectly fine (our bus boy was exceptional). However - noise level was so high, I couldn't hear conversation at my own table. Adega seems to want to attract the fine dining crowd AND the bar crowd; unless they expand or put... read more
heaven on earth – Oh my goodness! The food, oh the food, it melts in your mouth. The preperation and toil exerted to make these dishes is obvoius in their rich texture and flavor. The wine list is very extensive, from every price range imaginable. This wine servers anre very helpful in selecting the perfect wine to accompany your meal. The desserts are to die for and the attmosphere is wonderful. Make sure to make a reservation, though, or you will have to wait for a table, even on the slow nights.
Get it Together – On a recent return to Adega, I sensed that they were finally getting their service act together. There was good communication between management and service staff and food was coming out of the kitchen in a timely fashion. However, the kitchen was sending out less than stellar eats. Some dished were right on, but some were so heavily salted I doubt that anyone tasted for seasoning before sending it out of the kitchen. Another item wrpped in Phylo was unedible, as it was burned to a crisp. How this item made... read more
Way way overrated.... – Food was average. Very small portions. Service was slow. I will not go back.
Unbelievable! – I had read the reviews before going to Adega and was worried since they were so up and down. It was one of the best meals I have ever had and I have eaten all over the world. The service was fabulous, the food was incredible and the decor was great. We left feeling very satisfied and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who would like a nice meal in Denver. I wish there were more restaurants like this in town.
Critics are way off. – After reading the negative reviews on this site prior to our reservation, I was perpared for an overpriced, marginal meal. I had nothing of the sort. We were seat promptly and courteously. The staff was friendly and not overbearing. The food was excellent. Yes, the portions by American standards were small, but by the end of the evening I felt just as full as if I had eaten at Claim Jumper except I didn't have to take half of it home. All in all we had a wonderful meal and I certainly wasn't disappoint... read more
Platinum Service – We had reserved the Chef's Table for 8 on Oct 12th. Chef Bryan Moscatello and his staff prepared an unbelievable (and unique) 8 course meal with white truffles accenting many of the courses. It was exceptional from beginning to end. Sommelier Chris Farnum personally selected the wines to accompany each course. The service was outstanding and it was a privilege to watch such a well managed operation in action. We'll all be back! It was a very special evening made even more so by the team at Adega.
Why do I go back fot torture? – I keep trying to go back to Adega, but usually find myself more dissapointed than the last time. The wine selection and food are excellent, but the kitchen timing and service definitely have issues. I once waited at the bar for my meal for over 30 minutes...turns out it went to the couple next to me! The bartendress was apologetic, but management had no clue. With all those suits one should atleast have an idea about running the FOH. On my last visit, the door was sloppy! My guests and I were ... read more
Missing the Boat – Adega misses the detail that is needed for greatness and justification for their prices. Some of the dishes were fabulous but most were average quality and flavor. The wait staff needs better training or they need to hire experienced professionals. Smaller portions and less quality than Charlie Trotters or the French Laundrys 8 course meals with similar or higher prices! In this economy with many great restaurants in major markets reducing wine costs Adega is going against the tide with overpriced selectio... read more
