Vanguard's customer service is unbelievably bad! We have been trying to transfer my husband's IRA to a National Bank for the past 30 days with no success. We have made numerous calls and each time get transferred around to reps that are basically clueless. Their customer service people are rude, untrained and speak over the customer plus the wait times are sometimes 45 minutes. I have filed a complaint with the SEC but not sure what action we will get. Please be aware before you decide to invest into 401k with this corporation. I no longer work for a company that I once contributed to 401k with vanguard. They won't let me terminate the account. Very shady business practices. Now I will have to get a 401k attorney. The customer service is terrible. Save yourselves the headache and do not invest with vanguard!!

I am currently on a phone with CSR Saudia, waiting on someone of expertise to look into my account. I hear kids in the back ground. I have been trying to get this issue resolved for the last couple of weeks on a daily. I need my 401K from vanguard rolled over into my current Fidelity account. I have went to get documents notarized, while sitting on the phone with a vanguard CSR to help walk me through the steps, when I sent off the documentation. After 10 years having a 401k with Vangaurd I got a new job and decided to transfer my money out to TD where I can manage it there. Vangaurd not only voided my check once it was finally received at TD, they have repeatedly "forgotten" to expedite a new check despite me calling everyday for reminders. Since all the funds were pulled from my TD account after purchasing stock and TD would not send the new check I had to liquidate everything. Vanguard outperforms Fidelity in every way. Have had scandalously bad customer service from Fidelity. Vanguard's web site is far superior, as are the customer service personnel who answer their phones. Highly recommend.

I have called 10 times they keep hanging up will not close my account I been trying for over 30 days!!! Very disappointed

Difficult online interface, 2 hour wait times to talk to them, and while it's easy to get money into your account, they make it almost impossible to transfer it out.
