Yes the people there are wonderful
The customer service at Van Bortel is exceptional. They are very organized and efficient. When I was in for a recall recently since it was going to take several hours, the driver took me home and came back the next morning to pick me up. Besides the recall, they did a complimentary multi-point inspection and car wash. There was no charge for anything and no pressure to do anything else. Everyone I encountered was extremely courteous and helpful. A very high class, professional business.
I had a very positive experience at Van Bortel. Ray Burke, the salesperson that I worked with was helpful and low key. Also, I REALLY was impressed when they made a reasonable offer for my trade- with no haggling. Their Crosstrek prices were good but sadly it was the end of the model year (October) and they did not have the car that I wanted in stock. So I ended up buying a car at a Syracuse dealer😟, which was a mixed bag. However we have every intention to have VanBortel do the service work.
This is not from a current Subaru owner, though I have owned one in the past... earlier today I experienced a flat tire on my HD motorcycle while on a trip from Maine. I pulled off the road at Van Bortel to deal with it. The service department was AWESOME. They easily could have said “not our issue”. .. they let me wheel it into an open bay, helped me trace the leak, and when it was apparent I couldn’t safely operate the bike, let me leave it in the lot overnight. Great service at Van Bortel Subaru in Victor!
Pretty much everything, from the way they greet me to the quality and variety of coffee in the waiting room (and the comfortable chairs). The way they keep me posted as to progress and when I can expect the job to be completed, the thoroughness of the person who checks me out - and on occasion actually noted an error that reduces my cost. I actually look forward to visiting Van Bortel Subaru in Victor, and am currently driving my fourth Subaru bought from them.
