Have been in and out of Hamot for two years. Surgery in Jan 2013. Surgery Dec 2013. Several times in the fall I was in and out for major illnesses. The only bad thing I can say about it is two words.......................Hospital Food! The staff of nurses were wonderful Even the custodians were cheerful and asked if they could get anything for me. The doctors were wonderful by taking the time to explain everything I was going through and always answered my questions in terms I could understand.
I cannot get through to UPMC offices because phones are busy with this Insurance Debacle! My Magee GYN of 35 years had his hospital and office leases cancelled!!!!! I cannot get prescription refills! YOU are negatively effecting the health and lives of many!
Can't say more than that that UPmc mercy hospital gave my husband a new life . whereas he was admitted in some other hospital for 10 days with heart attack they could not even diagnose what was wrong with him but at mercy he was brought at 7 o clock at night and he went for heart surgery next day 7 am I owe UPmc big times for their life saving efforts

I want to thank the staff and Dr's of UPMC East for the excellent care I received from Friday November 14, 2014 through Monday November 17, 2014. I stayed in room 5008 and I could not have asked for better care and experience from all departments, the floor I was on, the MRI, ER, Respiratory and Echo-cardiogram departments were outstanding as well. Food was good to great as well. I know I will forget some names of those who cared for me so I posted the dates above to cover all the staff. Thanks again for all your professiona... read more

I spent a couple nights here do to 4 fractured ribs! The Rn were all awesome courtesy and smiling faces! Even though I was miserable they made my stay a cheerful one!
