One of the worst insurance company's to do business with there is always issues that you have to spent hours on with no customer service.

If I could give a lower score I would. They knew I just got ripped off from a diffrent company before coming to them. I've been paying hundreds every month since November and I just got my welcome packet and card yesterday!!!! Not one time have they covered even a prescription and my husband has asthma!! worst expierance. I am a mom of 2 and could have used that money toward something for my children. They took my money and haven't helped at all.
Optum specialty pharmacy (formerly known as BriovaRx) has been impossible to deal with. Throughout the years, they have lost my prescriptions, prior-authorizations, attempted to ship medication to a wrong address, placed an order with an incorrect number of doses of the medication, etc. Their most recent way to harass me has been to lose my copay card information. In the past 6 months, I have provided my copay card more than 10 times. They somehow magically lose the info within a few weeks and send me a bill for the balance.... read more

OptumRx on numerous occasions has held my prescription without contacting me, preventing me from getting my prescription on time. When I then need to get an emergency prescription to make up for their mistake, who pays for the difference? I do. I've spent hundreds of dollars to fill emergency scripts. Their communication with patients is abysmal. They tell me they sent me a text message notifying me of a hold on my prescription. They are the worst! Their OptumRx pharmacy, horrendous. They never get the medication on time, and when you think you’re about to get it in the mail; oh, there was an error with your order. You call them, and they never have answers. It’s literally like talking to a wall. And forget trying to get the same medication in another pharmacy, they’ll make it so difficult for you to get those medications approved to another pharmacy. I would have given it less than one star if I could have they are absolutely terrible. I have missed many doses of medication because of their terrible customer service. Every time I called it took an hour or more and no one I talked to seemed to know anything about my account or medication. I was with them for nearly 4 years because of an employer and the fact that that employer only offered United healthcare was a large part of the reason I left. They are absolutely terrible to deal with.

Terrible customer service and refused to help me find the information I needed.
The UHC Cobra administration has been HORRIBLE!!! It took a MONTH for me to show as active for the medical coverage and TWO MONTHS later I still do NOT show active for vision, dental or prescription coverage (and the prescription company is part of their medical company!)! The customer service people are friendly (and I know since I have spent HOURS on the phone trying to get this resolved!) OptumRx, has on multiple occasions changed my subscription from generic to name brand, without any ok from myself or my doctor. In the most resent case the name brand cost me almost 3 times more then the generic. When I contacted them, they tell me it is too late because it has already been shipped, and I cannot return it.
