This company stonewalls in the face of even minimal customer issues and will not provide adequate records to resolve disputes. This company does not train representatives adequately to handle phone calls, and is not able to verify anything relating to previous communications, so seems to keep no records of customer interaction.

Tried to cancel my dental insurance for 2 weeks, they always transfer me to cancellation Department, but nobody pick up the phone, they put me on hold for all day long every day until I give up. Another payment just came out of my account, I am going to dispute it.

UHC and Optum have little to no competency in helping patients. Calling from a providers office, I spent well over 2.5 hours on hold with both companies getting transferred back and forth between then because they could not figure out who wanted to own up and be the responsible party to cover the patient's medicaiton and would inevitable get hung up. This patient's symptoms continue to get worse, so I just assume they would prefer to pay for a hospital or ER visit because they sure don't seem to have any empathy or care for ... read more

Claims process is very slow. Some taking over a year to process leaving patients with unpaid bills.

I am trying to get insurance through them. They are saying my cataract surgeon declared me with major depression. I sent them a letter from the eye doctor showing insurance codes and copies of my medical records that show my depression test as normal. I will continue to fight them. I

You may have thought the insurance character on "The Incredibles" was a little over the top. Surely a business doesn't actually work this way. After moving jobs over a year ago, my wife and I had to secure new insurance. Shortly after, my wife was diagnosed with cancer. She went through treatments and surgery. The cancer appeared to be taken care of. They immediately denied the claim using "preexisting condition" as their basis. I signed up for short term healthcare while my wife and I were unemployed to avoid the ACA penalty. Turns out that the policy I bought was not ACA compliant. So, I still had to pay the penalty. I was not informed by UnitedHealthOne that the plan was not compliant when enrolling. I canceled the coverage but was continually billed for 9 months for 24-hour physician access at $20/month. On 3/7/19 I went to the MED Express in Altoona, PA for treatment for slight chest pain that I believed (later on through other medical professionals confirmed) was related to bronchitis and a sinus infection. I was given an EKG, which I agreed to as I anticipated the results would come back negative for a cardiac event.
