From mid November to the end of December I have had quite a bit of interaction with the doctors, nurses, cafeteria staff and PCAs at Umass. My granddaughter was in for 18 days due to a perforated appendix (she's 9). Everything was done for her and our family to make us as comfortable as possible. Even the little things like extra blankets and getting a peanut butter and jelly sandwich at 3 am were really appreciated. This place is absolutely horrendous. I brought my 4 month old son in with a fever , vomiting, and dirreah. We waited four hours and we still haven't seen anyone. When asked how much longer I was on replied with I'm sorry sir , you can always go somewhere else. I thought this was a place you could get help , not a shitty attitude from a miserable nurse . I hope no parent ever has to go through what we are currently experiencing.
My emergency room nurse was very attentive and let me have some private time before my sergury . . She spent time with me and just listened and was very comforting ... I had the best care at a difficult time... Thank you *
I was in a car accident last month and was referred to UMass to have surgery done, went for my first visit for CT scans and was in and out with hardly any waiting and everyone on staff has been very friendly and informative :):)
