Very deceptive business practices! We reserved a truck 2+ weeks before our move and received a quote for a specific dollar amount of slightly less than $500. I would like to believe that if Uhaul was a ******** owned company it would have better service for *********. Uhaul punishes people who live in smaller communities by keeping the larger trucks in bigger cities and if someone in a smaller town wants to rent a larger truck, they have to go pick it up themselves and pay the extra mileage from the bigger city. The **Boxes are a SCAM! DO NOT RENT THEM OVER OTHER OPTIONS. I rented two for a cross country move thinking they were a good deal at ~$2k. Now they want to charge me ANOTHER ~$2k to unload them which was never discussed in advance. They have my belongings so what am I to do other than pay them an undisclosed additional fee of almost DOUBLE.

Read the fine print. Safe Move/Safe Tow DOES NOT cover your contents if the U Haul is stolen. I've rented from them for years and have always gotten this coverage. My rented trailer was stolen. When I filed the claim they denied my claim saying it only covers for damage to contents from accidents. Thefts are excluded. Given the prevalence of thefts these days it would be good if their website materials stated this explicitly.

The story is much longer than this as I've been trying to get this resolved for TWO WEEKS & have spoken to FIFTEEN people to no avail. I reserved 3 U-boxes & was quoted $1642.60 I asked the agent twice if the $1642.60 was my final total because I was comparing prices. She told me yes twice. I rented a Uhaul In August 2023 for a move for my daughter from ****** ** to ******** *******, for September 17, 2023. I filled out all of the online information and picked a location for pick up. My son would be flying to ** to pick up and drive the Uhaul to ********. I was sent the information that we were confirmed. DO NOT USE. I rented a u-box from them to move my things from AZ to **. They didnt pick up my u-box to bring it to the facility until 4 days after it was dropped off (it was supposed to be picked up same day). Worse yet, no one even contacted me to let me know. I found out when I called them. My box was supposed to be delivered on 9/15 (guaranteed). It is now 9/18 and it still has not shipped from **. Again, no communication. I called them. They dont have any answers and have not contacted me even though I filed a complaint.... read more

The UHaul at **************************************************************** has a very loud garbage pickup Monday and Thursday between 3:30-5 am. I sleep with earplugs and updated windows and still wake up to dumpsters slamming. The local manager asked me to contact Corporate, saying they cant do anything. Corporate told me to call the police, meaning its on me to record and measure noise levels. There are many houses near this UHaul and this isnt a responsible answer by the company.

I would suggest ************ contact the waste management company to see if they can adjust the time they schedule for garbage pick up in the area. Worst company in the world to deal with went to a location to get a reserved truck filled out paper work and paid for truck went to get the truck and it was broken had a flat tire that location didnt have any more trucks so I was sent to another location 30 minutes away and when I got there was told that I had to pay again for the truck that I already paid the other location for long story short left without the truck and called customer service and was told the charges were refunded just at to have the money taken from my a... read more
