Absolute worst experience I have ever had with a company or service. Would have given negative stars if it was an option. Started off with having to pay almost 4x the amount to rent a trailer from ** to SC as it is to go from SC to **. Rental total was over $1000!!! The truck was filthy, the "no contact" checkin took 45 minutes and two visits to the counter because the app is glitchy, and I was unapologetically informed that the furniture roller I reserved wasn't available. A frustrating experience compounded by brutally bad customer service. Never again.Based on previous reviews, I expect U-Haul is going to respond with its usual insincere boilerplate apology.

I'm a little late writing this because life gets in the way. We reserved the Uhaul the first of Sept and took a weekend to do so. We went on a Saturday to the Uhaul in ************, ******. I moved into my unit at the Lost River Storage Facility and my unit was a climate controlled unit on the inside. The contract stated secure and safe with cameras and code to enter. They provided the locks. I moved my items in two units in April of 2023 and that was the last time I entered the units. Im currently renting a storage unit at ******************** and was told by an associate named ********* that I was to receive a free month on my rental unit and to call or come in to receive that offer since I had paid my rental amount when I moved in on 8/31/2023. I was denied service because my alternate contact owe U-Haul money. EAlert customer service representative ******* ( whom decline to provide her last name, supervisor, or any other manager request ) told me that it is U-Haul's company policy to not rent to anyone whom has any affiliation with any person that owes U-Haul money. ******* stated to me that in order for me to rent a truck or U-Haul to rinder service I would have to pay the $42 on the alternate contacts behalf. I reserved a uhaul and dolly over two weeks ago. When I get here to pick up the truck and dolly. There is no dolly to be had! The only thing I was told is that they could only take the price of the dolly off.. however because I reserved it the reservation is not being honored.

My reservation was changed and then canceled the day before our move. I was told I was wrong and then after getting a manager, all he kept saying was they were busy and he was trying to help. They took no responsibility for their actions. How is someone allowed to alter my reservation and get away with it. They have access to my debit card information and wont take responsibility for their workers.
