We rented a U-Haul for a recent move, my husband being a professional driver reported the Hazard lights do not work so they put the deposit return on Hold- I have been going back and forth with them for 2 weeks now trying to get our deposit and no one will take responsibility and just get to the bottom of this and return the deposit. - Was told if you did not break it do not report it!

Reservation on 9/8 #******** for 15 truck and auto hauler for pick up on 10/14 one way move from CA to South Carolina. Day before pick up Uhaul called and said no trucks and no haulers available so they were cancelling my res. I called a different uhaul number and found a 15 truck just 8 miles away but this new res was now going to be $1050 more expensive than original quote (********). And no auto hauler available. My elderly father rented a Uhaul van on 10/24/2021. We took a photo of the mileage that matched the mileage on our paperwork that they themselves highlighted in yellow and gave back to my dad at the time of the rental. When we returned the van this morning (10/25/2021), a male employee who checks in the vans/trucks/trailers argued with my father that he didn't put enough gasoline in the truck. My husband spoke with a representative to reserve a 20ft truck for an out of town (one-way) move. He confirmed with the representative that a truck of this size would be available for our long distance move ONE MONTH prior to our move date. We hired movers and organized helping from our family and friends to help us with the move. U-Haul is UNTRUSTWORTHY! I made a reservation A MONTH AGO, but when I called in, I was told that they no longer have any availability! If you cannot count on U-Haul when you have a RESERVATION, how are you supposed to move your home when you can't trust a company that you have made a reservation with, for a piece of important equipment?!

U-Haul has the worse business policy and ethics I've ever heard of. I voluntarily paid on my sons' storage unit with them for 1 month, over the phone and with my bank card. They continue to charge MY credit card every time the payment is late...WITHOUT MY PERMISSION OR AUTHORIZATION to do so!!! They never asked me could they save my card info or this is what will automatically happen. I only realized this when I look at my bank statement and see the payment withdraw. I have been thoroughly extorted by this lying corporation. ***y actually had the nerve to charge for 41 miles when we drove the truck less than 2 miles. *** mileage gauge was obviously set to rip off as much as they could. Ditto on the gas gauge which was just under one quarter when we picked the truck up on ************. between 10th & ********. Since we went such a short distance the meter should definitely not have read close to empty. Nonetheless we filled the tank to one quarter so we wouldnt be charged for gas as well.... read more

I rented a UHaul trailer on 8/31/2021 for a move to ******. The trailer axel broke 150 miles from my destination. It took 6 hours for assistance to arrive which entailed a flatbed to tow the trailer the rest of the way. The trailer arrived about 4 hours after I arrived which was after 12 AM. I called Uhaul about a week later to complain about the trailer and asked for a credit for the cost of the trailer. This is the worst experience in my life.... moving across canada, don't use them. numerous phone calls, they do not do, what they say they will do. Being transfer 4 times to talk to a manager, but yet you have to repeat your story each time. Now they want me to pay full mth rental for my Uboxes for less then 24 hours, I was told a manager would call me back within the hour, then called back, was told 24 to 48 hours.... but that didn't happen. they don't care what so ever!!!! extremly disorganized company.
