THE WORST EXPERIENCE! We have had issues with U-haul since the day we picked up our truck before our move to the day we it off and so on. When we went to pick our truck up their card machine wasn't working so they went to use my other authorized drivers card and that didn't work either (even though we had called our bank and were told the money was removed and there was nothing that could be done on our end it was an issues on theirs) so they took a picture of his card and then let us go on our way. I've never been more upset with a company in my life. I don't understand how Uhaul is a legitimate business and I urge you to avoid them at all costs.I scheduled a one-way truck from ********* to ******** for June 30th. I received an email two days prior to my move "GUARANTEEING" a one-way truck. I show up at the location at the pick-up time (11am) and am simply told it's not there. Worst Uhaul experience I have ever had.I have been a repeat customer for many years.I reserved a truck for a Friday (6/30/2023) move.I work a few miles away from this Uhaul location (*********) and was moving our summer program equipment between West 30th and West 47th. Legitimately the worst experience I have had with a "business". How this sham of a company is allowed to continue operating is beyond me.My husband and I were moving almost 500km at the end of May 2023. After booking 2 months before my move U-haul downsized the truck I was to get, changed the pick-up location, and delayed the pick-up to 4:30pm on a Friday just before the long weekend. Their note on the booking about contacting you the day before to verify and find you the equipment that you need is BS. They contacted me by text to say that the location of pick up had changed, then later I received a text to say that the size of truck had changed. Dealing with Uhaul during a move from ** to ** has been one of the worst experiences. LITERALLY, every time we went to pick up a uhaul box, return a box, rent/pick up a trailer, or deliver said trailer, we had something go wrong and spent numerous hours on the phone without much help. We are currently sitting in ** and being told they lost the trailer we delivered and is being marked as not returned and our guaranteed delivery date for the boxes is apparently not a guarantee. UHAUL U-Box gets an "F-" for delivery, tracking, on-time *************. I recommend that you DON'T use this service, ever. There is no tracking information. The contract calls for a $50 per day late charge, but nobody can figure out how to pay it. The delivery address is my new luxury apartment on my contract, and they told me, "I had to pick it up from the local UHAUL in **************." Uhaul is the worst company I have EVER experienced and will never return to any Uhaul location ever again. I used Uhaul to install a very simple hitch on my car. It said it would take about an hour, and I could wait with my car. When I arrived, the employee told me it would be 3-4 hours, but I could rent a cargo van and only be charged a $0.59/per mile. I only drove 30 miles and ended up getting charged $75. They claimed I did not refuel the vehicle, which I did less than a mile before returning the van. Not to mention all o... read more
