Two urban SUCKS – Two weekends ago I went to T.U.L and was told that it would be a 2 ? hour wait for a table so we decided to eat at the bar. 15 minutes later they called saying our table was ready. A party of 5 of us celebrated my brother's 23rd birthday. As soon as we walked in we were led straight to our table. Our waiter was right there to great us and take our drink order. Our first time there he patiently answered all our questions and explained the menu. As the lighting is dim at dinner time, my grandmother had a hard time seeing but our waiter patiently read and described the various entres and recommended favorites. ok for a couple, terrible for a big group – We sat by the kitchen, and I was amazed at the speedy service. My criticism for my first visit was that NONE of the food is marinated. The sauce for any dish is just slapped on there, and has no contact with any of the other food until it is on the plate. All flash, no substance... – Our table of 12 was given to us only after all had arrived. We all arrived at the same time, but the valet was so congested half the party was waiting in the line of traffic out front. I ordered a "thief" of wine, their name for a carafe. It was white, but was room-temperature warm, which explained why the server placed carafe into bucket with ice. We loved it. – The valet parking was great as it had started to rain. We did a girls night out and had a wonderful time. We sat at the back window and were in awe of the skyline view. The food was on time and wonderfully unique. We recommended it to our co-workers the next day.
Service so bad, it is comical... – To make a long story short, dont go to Two Urban Licks unless you like wearing your dinner home! We recently went with a party of 6 for my birthday and after waiting over an hour for a our food the waitress lost her balance and dropped my husbands entire meal on my back. Good expierience with large party, late dining – I was apprehensive after reading other reviews, but we were invited for a party and went with a group of 10 with a 9pm reservation. The hostess wasn't good(incorrect information), but we were seated on time and served promptly. We took the advice of others and ordered two small plates each instead of an entree, and we were glad we did. We particularly enjoyed the mussels and the squash blossoms. What did you say? – Interesting idea...open kitchen is likely best feature. Extremely loud (ears are still ringing), expect to repeat yourself. After an hour of yelling, I gave up and talked only to my neighbor. Ordered the bbq shrimp...server told me they were peel and eat - which was ok. However, they weren't beheaded.
