Looks without Substance – The food was great and the atmosphere was wonderful. Unfortunately the rude and unaccommodating hosting staff (1 hour wait w/ res!) combined with a truly absurd valet parking system, made our experience at 2 Urban, one lick away from painful. While the tapas selection was adequate and the drink menu unique, the music was plainly "too-urban loud." Overall, and in light of the great decor and delectable food, the HORRIBLE service and valet paint 2 Urban Licks as a 1 trick pony.
Great Spot for Lively Dinner – This is a great spot to have a fun and exciting dinner that stimulates all your senses. The food is fantastic - especially the appetizers, pork shoulder, scallops and duck. We thought the wine was pretty good. Make reservations! Similar style to One with more substance – First, be realistic! This restaurant has jsut opened and is very "hot" so don't even think about going without a reservation, at least for the next couple months. Second, as a result it will be packed and therefore, loud. But the ambiance is cool, the 360 degree kitchen is cool, the rotisserrie is cool and the food is GREAT! It's NOT a bar-b-que joint – Two is one of the most stunning places I have ever seen. The uinterioir goes far beyond "dramatic." The food is southern-inspired, certainly, but it is wide-ranging and well-prepared. I wouldn't consider it to be a bar-b-que place at all. Sophisticated entrees, artfully presented in a stunning interior. Highly recommended. Service could be better, but for a new place, not bad.
These restaurants are just too loud. At least at two the food is much better than one. It's just so miserably loud. You would never want to go here on a date. It's a good restaurant for big groups though. And they still have that big smoking bird thing that makes you stink. The wine isn't very good. I don't buy that barrel business and I realize that serving white wine at room temperature is european but you just can't do that in the states, our wine isn't that good. Interesting – This was overall a good experience for my group with a few exceptions. If you are at a table for more than 4, make sure to get as far away from the band as possible. Otherwise, you will not be able to hear each other at all. Best to go early (6:30-7) because the service suffers as they get busier.
