Today, I had a six month follow-up exam following knee replacement surgery. All has gone very well and I could not be happier with my decision to trust Dr Atkinson and his staff with this procedure. I initially sought treatment from a highly advertised provider, not having any local knowledge or experience. While I am sure my initial treatments were appropriate and well done, I felt like I was in a factory with a bar code taped to my forehead. After injuring my shoulder in March 2020 I was hoping it would heal on its own. It did not. I contacted Dr. Atkinson's office and was surprised when he said that surgery was needed. I was a little apprehensive at first but he explained the procedure and answered any questions that I had. Leaving me confident in that decision. Dr Atkinson and his staff were wonderful to work with. He performed surgery on my left shoulder and now there is no evidence that I ever had any problem with it. I previously had surgery on my other shoulder ,in Indiana, and it took much longer to heal land was more painful. He was very attentive to my situation and I would recommend him to anyone needing a shoulder surgery. His PT staff was amazing as well. Friendly, kind, considerate and knowledgeable. Dr. Atkinson calmed my concerns about having a total knee replacement. He showed me the xray and explained what was wrong and what had to be done. The surgery went well and I was up and walking the next day. Was only a few steps but more than I thought possible. The staff in the front office and physical therapy room were so very helpful and pleasant. I would certainly recommend him to my family and friends.
Just had my second total knee replacement under Dr. Todd Atkinson at Lee Health’s downtown campus. Two weeks post op I was walking without a cane and minimal pain. Everyone from his office staff to the surgical team and rehab is so nice, friendly, professional and helped calm my nerves. I highly recommend Dr. Atkinson and can’t wait to be hiking again next summer - now with two brand new knees!
Dr Atkinson performed TKR on my right knee June 19 2020, the entire process was very easy and the procedure was flawless, from the initial visit through PT Dr Atkinson and his staff were excellent in all areas. I am now 120 days post op and my ROM is 128 and I am so very pleased with the outcome...if you are needing an Orthopedic Surgeon in the Lee County area do not hesitate to contact Dr Atkinson and his team...would recommend to anyone... My Wife Carol had a reverse shoulder replacement on Valentines day of 2020. To say the least, he gave her quite a Valentines gift! with his expert surgery, followed up by the best physical therapy offered by his clinic, Carol has full motion of her arm and almost no feel of discomfort whatsoever. Our hats - and masks- off to Dr Todd Atkinson. If he played shortstop for Harvard Baseball team as as well as he does in surgery, the NY Yankees sure could use him!
Dr. Atkinson repaired my shoulder due to a rotator cuff tear . He is compassionate, kind, professional and caring. His work is excellent. I healed well and quickly. He also did a total knee replacement shortly after that and it was perfect. His skill is amazing. His office referred home care therapy and also provided on-site physical therapy at his office.
