It is my pleasure to leave this review concerning Dr. Todd Atkinson. He has all the qualities you would want in a perfect doctor. Competence, kind, respectful, care about your well being. From the start of the analysis phase, through the surgery, and followup therapy, I have been ecstatic with everything about this shoulder replacement surgery. Keeping in mind this is my 5th major joint replacement from other doctors across the country. This was the best experience of all.
Dr. Atkinson, his office staff and his PT team are all amazing. I had shoulder surgery and would highly recommend Dr Atkinson. He is very attentive, kind and professional. Wonderful experience.
EXCELLENT doctor!! I had rotator cuff surgery done 6 months ago and I am feeling so much better. I saw 2 other orthopedic doctors that administered cortisone shots in my arm - to no avail. I did some further research and stumbled upon Dr. Atkinson's credentials and reviews. I was impressed by what I read. I also liked the idea that he does arthroscopic surgery. Dr. Atkinson is the kindest, most compassionate and professional physician I have ever experienced. I had been plagued with knee pain for over 10 years, only to be informed, after several MRI's,that there was nothing that could be done other than total knee replacement. Dr. Atkinson and his staff recommended a less evasive means of treatment, and explained what I would expect post surgery. In short, the surgery went perfectly two months ago. Dr. Atkinson did surgery on my wife's shoulder in July 2018 so when I started having shoulder issues, I naturally made an appointment with his office. After determining that I needed a shoulder replacement, his office made all the arrangements. I arrived at the hospital at 5:30 am and was back in the car on the way home by 9:30 am. 6 months later I am 100% with no pain. We absolutely give Dr. Atkinson and his staff 5 stars and thank them for being the "Best of the Best"!
Quite suddenly my right shoulder was frozen and causing me severe pain. I was referred to Dr. Atkinson by my boss and what impressed me the most was that he didn't immediately suggest surgery, I did try the recommended physical therapy. When it became apparent that therapy wasn't helping, Dr. Atkinson scheduled the surgery. I couldn't be happier with the results.
Today, I had a six month follow-up exam following knee replacement surgery. All has gone very well and I could not be happier with my decision to trust Dr Atkinson and his staff with this procedure. I initially sought treatment from a highly advertised provider, not having any local knowledge or experience. While I am sure my initial treatments were appropriate and well done, I felt like I was in a factory with a bar code taped to my forehead. After injuring my shoulder in March 2020 I was hoping it would heal on its own. It did not. I contacted Dr. Atkinson's office and was surprised when he said that surgery was needed. I was a little apprehensive at first but he explained the procedure and answered any questions that I had. Leaving me confident in that decision. Dr Atkinson and his staff were wonderful to work with. He performed surgery on my left shoulder and now there is no evidence that I ever had any problem with it. I previously had surgery on my other shoulder ,in Indiana, and it took much longer to heal land was more painful. He was very attentive to my situation and I would recommend him to anyone needing a shoulder surgery. His PT staff was amazing as well. Friendly, kind, considerate and knowledgeable.
