I am so glad I was referred to Dr. Todd Atkinson for shoulder pain. I had been suffering from this pain for many years. Cannot say enough about Dr. Todd Atkinson and the entire staff at Advanced Orthopedics & Sports Medicine! I had a total rotator cuff repair in March. Dr. Atkinson was very thorough explaining what my condition was and all of my options. I decided to have surgery and they went out of their way to answer my questions and help calm my nerves! Aftercare has been amazing as well. I finished with on-site PT in June and continue some home PT. My range of motion, etc is nearly 100% and pain is virtually nonexistent. I had rotator repair on right side and reverse total shoulder on left in a nine week period I was amazed that pain terrible pain was gone almost immediately and I was off pain meds in three days after surgery I would definitely recommend Dr Atkinson Don’t loose any more sleep because of shoulder pain

I made an appointment with Dr. Atkinson after hearing wonderful recommendations from neighbors. I had initially gone to another doctor where I was kept waiting for 3 hours. I waited less than 5 minutes with Dr. Atkinson. He explained the procedure and was very thorough and professional. Dr Atkinson cares about his patients and how they recover and does not rush you in or out. I recently had a shoulder replacement in Ft Myers Fl. Excellent surgeon, great after care, and my Physical Therapist, Ed Vezzola and his team were also exceptional. Absolutely recommend all of them for any joint replacement!

I was referred to and met Dr Atkinson in December 2021. He was very courteous and fully explained the procedure required, based on my MRI results.My surgery took place at the Gladiolus Surgery Center Fort Myers, in mid February 2022 , which was an excellent facility with friendly and professional staff. They were very kind and considerate. The Doctor phoned my husband while I was in recovery and fully explained the surgery that had been more complicated than expected.He informed me of the follow up physical therapy required.... read more

My wife is a physical therapist and has seen patients for all of the ortho docs in the area. When I needed a shoulder replacement, there was only one choice...Dr. Atkinson. The staff handled x-rays, consultations, insurance processing beautifully while answering my questions. Surgery was scheduled which was on-time. I slipped and fell in Fall 2020 and injured both shoulders. Dr. Atkinson repaired right shoulder April 2021 and left shoulder Aug 2021 (rotator cuff, etc.) He was terrific and did an excellent job. Both shoulders are doing very well.
