Just awful. My dad passed and per Thrivent, his policy is worth very little. We are trying to determine why that is as my mom's same policy is worth 10 times as much. Thrivent is refusing to give us any information despite my mom's multiple requests (she is both the executor of his will and the beneficiary of this policy). We have provided all legal documentation and now they are saying we have to go to court to get the information. This is not what was expected from a supposed "Christian" company. If you are considering a w... read more

I think the negative reviews that have been written for years about Thrivent/ ******** *********** are spot on and accurate. . They have a strong financial rating because they make it inordinately difficult to access your money and in the end keep the bulk of it. Having dealt with them over my husband's long term care and now mine, the basic treatment hasn't changed just the methods and the customer service behavior and demeanor. The feeling that they think the money is theirs hasn't changed just the way they define it. The ... read more

I worked for 26 years. Have a Pension. I transferred it to Thrivent believing it work grow. My investment account lost more than ****** in less than 2 weeks. I was a new client. Then there are more than ***** in fees that they took from my account over the last 10 months. I said I was better off where it was before I rolled it over to THRIVENT. The advisor said that is not true. I advise anyone reading this do not use this company. You will probably regret it if You do. They have lost money that I needed. Sickened.

I recently had a Zoom meeting with *************************, a Thrivent financial advisor, with the explicit purpose of discussing life insurance. Unfortunately, the encounter left me feeling utterly disappointed and disrespected.Instead of addressing my inquiries about life insurance, **************** chose to dominate the conversation by delivering a lengthy and patronizing lecture on various financial matters, completely disregarding my specific request. His condescending tone and disregard for my concerns were apparent ... read more

Wish I could leave no stars!!!! Horrible company ...very condescending attitudes and difficult to work with. After having my late husbands 401.k with them for more than 15 yrs. Thrivant was difficult to work with to transfer the money that was worth way less than beginning contributions. This coming from someone who has never left a review. You've been warned.

In 1964, my Ex- mother-in-law sent the salesman from Lutheran Brotherhood (AKA Thrivent Financial)to my house. He filled out an Ins. application for a Whole Life Policy. I did not realize that I was buying a forced savings plan with Life Insurance. On my 21st birthday he told me to sign here. I paid the premium for 12 years and then took a loan for $5,000. Over the next 46 years, I paid the premium plus what I thought was interest on the loan. On all statements I paid the premium and what I thought was interest. I would subt... read more

My mom has Parkinsons and in a nursing home. They froze her account that we use to pay bills etc.. I called and put my dad on the line to get it unlocked since he knew the password questions since its a joint account. After he answered the security questions correctly they still wouldnt unfreeze the account because they needed my mom to say it was ok. Theyre married and obviously he has access to it cause he knows the answers to the security questions, but they had zero common sense and Insisted they needed to speak with her... read more
