I paid on 2 life insurance policies for my children for over 10 years. I received a letter saying that the policies were paid for now and I no longer had to pay premiums. I was trying to get my affairs in order and give the policies to my children and was told the policies no longer exist after 10 hours of phone calls. So much for Lutherans.

They had a contract to take out taxes and they failed, and iam stuck with a huge tax bill. They are a horrible company, don't trust them. They are an evil empire of dome. They are unethical, and only care about annuity, that will leave poor, and leave them Rich. They are nothing but, unthetical, and I have have proof, of what they agreed to, but, changed what they agreed to you. I know they will not take any responsibility for changing what they agreed to. Don't do any business with this company. They are EVIL fact. Maybe a ... read more

My sister-in-law has power of attorney; my husband's father is in a memory unit and absolutely unable to conduct his own financial affairs. Thrivent is refusing to give her access to his accounts online; explanation on the phone: "We can't be sure that you are acting in his best interests, we are protecting him"--from the daughter he chose to conduct his affairs! Illegal and unethical; do NOT use these people!

My dad just turned 103 this month, I, his son is his power of attorney for financial, and health. Every year during tax season Thrivent refuses to send tax information and refuses online access. So be aware, buy with them and your heirs are denied any access. My dad bought this policy during WW ll, and the family has no access. Total bad investment. Stay away from this company. They ride under AAL, and are *****, phone and website no support. STAY AWAY.....

Wish i could give zero stars. do not invest in or purchase products from this completely unethical company. Their employees are NOT fiduciaries and take NO CARE in handling your money. When you die your loved ones will be tasked with dealing with these terrible people, this company does not want to or possibly can't afford to pay out. They drag their feet requesting the same forms multiple times, maybe they will pay eventually, 65 days and $14K they lost, later they have yet to pay me. They can take the money, they can't pay... read more

Thrivent has left a bad taste in our mouths. Please be careful with any Life Insurance Policies terms and conditions. Read the fine print and get a written explanation. Remember it's a Company that has to make money. It's all about the Underwriters finding words such as "may or could" to avoid any conditions that would provide the Insurer a Premium Waiver. Thrivent did not follow the Contract that was written 20 years ago. Shame on Thrivent.

Thrivent has been fantastic to work with and have only had positive interactions with them.

I was going to open long term care policies for me and my husband. My husband did not really want one, since he thought he had enough money to handle any future need, so I let him keep his decision. I signed up. When the representative saw my application, he refused to accept it since "I won't sell a policy to a woman unless her husband is on board and buys one too." Huh? Other times he interacted with us in a disdainful way. We don't need that. Goodbye to him and Thrivent.BTW, I wish there were a lower rating to use than th... read more

I am very shocked at the negative reviews. I have had only exceptional care and thoughtfulness in all of my Thrivent experiences. My agent is proactive, forward thinking and always working to best educate me in my retirement investments. I am very grateful for Monnencias guidance.
