I was going to open long term care policies for me and my husband. My husband did not really want one, since he thought he had enough money to handle any future need, so I let him keep his decision. I signed up. When the representative saw my application, he refused to accept it since "I won't sell a policy to a woman unless her husband is on board and buys one too." Huh? I am very shocked at the negative reviews. I have had only exceptional care and thoughtfulness in all of my Thrivent experiences. My agent is proactive, forward thinking and always working to best educate me in my retirement investments. I am very grateful for Monnencias guidance.

I was added to their email marketing list after participating in a networking event. Since then, I have unsubscribed multiple times and reached out to a local representative to remove me from ALL communications from the organization. It's been months in the works and I am still receiving emails from them regularly. There appears to be no way to fully unsubscribe once they've enrolled you (without authorization) to their email marketing campaigns. My mom opened an account for me when I was a baby. In 2011 my mom told me about it and I called up to cancel (they wouldn't let her do it) I was then told they will send me a check (I never got that) . I moved and never heard anything about it. I bumped into my old landlord and he said he had my mail which was a bunch of thrivent letters. I opened them ** in 2021, and they state I owe them money. Terrible company. My father passed away mid March of 2021. I He had a whole life insurance policy with this company and so I reported his death to him within a week of his passing. I was told someone would contact me. Two weeks later his local representative phones me and says he will send out some paperwork. I asked if it could be done online and he told me no. My agent did not clarify the dates of my term policy. Was told that my term policy ends in 2022 (actually, in 2026), and was given an option at 1/3 the amount for over 4 times the price of what I am currently paying. I expressed concern to the agent who contacted me. Within a week I had a letter from a lawyer stating that if I didn't like the service I could close out my business with them. I have been with them for well over 20 years. I am leaving current business with them, but have gone to other sources for other business... read more

I was ask by brother took at his retirement account with Thrivent out of Lakewood, CA office. The first red flag was all the poor reviews on social media. It was worse than I had thought and very low hanging fruit. We met with his advisor asking for 3 years of December statements to compare with options my brother has at Fidelity. The advisor did not bring any of the requested statements and only supplied graphs mostly boilerplate from their website. My Dad became a customer in 1958, AAL would be ashamed on the company Thrivent has become. My Dad would be ashamed that he trusted his life savings to this company and the disrespect they have for our family. They do not return calls, emails, or answer questions with answers, just a run around story. They are not following the guidelines of the trust and when I questioned it, I was told to put on my big girl pants and suck it up by a senior officer.
