Not willing to help owners during COVID-19. I went on an update to ask for help to reduce my interest rate on my $89,000 loan. I’ve been on time with my loan and association fees payments. My husband wasn’t able to work because he works as a DJ and sound man. No concerts no parties allowed. I’m an essential worker, delivering mail 6-7 days a week, struggling to pay for everything! We purchased our timeshare through the Escondido Welk’s Resort back in 2013. We thought what a great idea and with all the promises it would work out even better. We live about a 40 minute drive from the Escondido compound. Some of the many promises were how easy it would be to book a trip to Hawaii, Mexico, or other destination that people like to go. If "0" stars were an option, I would select that. The sales staff intentionally withheld critical information from us when it was clear that the program would not suit our needs. We asked for access to the database so we could see specifically what properties would be available to us in the areas that we specified that we wanted to go and to see what properties are available for the "bonus week" which made this purchase make sense for us. Absolute garbage people working here. High-pressure sales tactics and horrendous customer service. Rude, insulting salespeople, and condescending supervisors. Glad I didn't buy from them!

We had the pleasure of speaking to Steve at the Northstar Lodge in California this Monday. The request made was to speak to someone who is informed on the process of returning our timeshare. The insistence on selling it back to them was to keep it exclusive as requested by the agent who sold it to us. Steve, however, asked my partner if she was joking. Beware Welk Resorts uses high pressure sales techniques to push people into expensive time shares with high APRs. Very unorganized and uncomfortable setting. If the sales person can’t push you into a sale, they will have two sales managers come to the table to try and pressure you into a sale. If they can’t push a sale onto you you then go to an exit sales presentation where they again try and push you into a sale. I signed up to visit a resort and listen to their deal. However the weather was turning bad and returning home was going to be on very bad roads if we stayed. We asked for a different weekend when we called to confirm. Not only could we not get a refund and reschedule they charged my card a 50 dollar penalty. This was charged when i called to confirm 2 days before when i was supposed to be there. I promise i will never look now

I joined the Welk group July 2019. As most people know, they promise you gifts for becoming a member. I originally wanted flights to Europe but then decided to get Hawaii and another U.S. flight, which were the ones put in my contract. I was super excited to have my travel planned out.
