So we got pressured into buying into WELK. We have paid into our time share for YEARS and used it ONE time. ONCE. I cannot figure out how to get rid of it. Then they had a law suit due to pressure tactics, and we did receive some money (I wish we could have gotten rid of this burden), and within a WEEK of receiving a settlement check we get a call trying to get us to come in and listen to ANOTHER presentation. According to the Financial Services Department they attempted to pull $443 dollars from my account without my authorization. When I questioned the rep Milton as to why the attempt was made prior to the date I authorized he blames another rep I had spoken to the month prior. I called back the following week to speak to a supervisor about this situation as well as our yearly dues ( where an early payment was made ) but an additional payment was still pulled from our account and both situations were blamed on their system. If I could do no stars I would, I honestly went up to Lake Tahoe with my boyfriend because he was going to get free Warriors tickets if we went to the presentation. I went just for that. I didn’t want to go. They told us that the meeting was going to be 90 minutes, that’s all, get the tickets and leave. The presentation lasted all day – six to eight HOURS. I hate this company with a passion. I've been stuck with them for a really really long time and I've never gotten to use this timeshare. Ive been struggling financially and these trash people won't help. The only way you're able to get out is if you die, so ***** * ********** ****** so I can get rid of this. Worst investment ever. I am 4+ years late to this post. I was introduced to welks at a sporting even in Anaheim CA. All we had to do is attend a seminar by putting down a 50$ deposit that would be refunded back once we attended with a reward of free tickets to a sporting event of my choice. And a free tablet. After the seminar, my gf at the time and now wife, and I were sold on "owning" these rooms whenever we wanted to have a vacation. Welk processed my timeshare cancellation without any trouble. Soon after my purchase I faxed them a signed request to end my contract within the timeframe established by my local legislation and no questions asked, they took care of it right away and gave me my deposit back within a few weeks. I was fine with my experience but Welk has called me a few times as if I were a sales lead, AFTER I had already cancelled and from a business standpoint—that is simply not tasteful. Had a horrible vacation to this resort. The reservation for our room was done incorrectly so we didnt get the room we originally requested. When we called from the room they gave us to let them know, they told us "sorry we're all booked". Then the couch was torin/stained, pull out bed was sunk in, room smelt horrible, and the water in the shower wouldnt drain (water was about half way up shin when showering). The salespeople convinced us that this was a financially sound investment but this is not true at all. The maintenance fees are ever-increasing and the finance rate is high. We upgraded our ownership after we were told that with the number of points we had, we would not be able to book a vacation that we wanted.
