The Tavern restaurant in downtown Abingdon is a step back in time. Our beautiful old building was built in 1779 and is the oldest of Abingdon's historic structures. In its original inception, it was an overnight inn for stagecoach travelers, housing famous guests such as Henry Clay, King Louis Philippe of France, and President Andrew Jackson. Just had the best meal I've had in a long time and such a cool place. Est. 1779. Really awesome atmosphere.
One of my all time favorite restaurants. Very romantic ambiance in a very historic building . Such a neat experience overall. Can't wait until I visit Abingdon again!
