The Tavern restaurant in downtown Abingdon is a step back in time. Our beautiful old building was built in 1779 and is the oldest of Abingdon's historic structures. In its original inception, it was an overnight inn for stagecoach travelers, housing famous guests such as Henry Clay, King Louis Philippe of France, and President Andrew Jackson. For special occasions and celebrations - this is the best place to go! The stuffed filet mignon is so tender and delicious - it literally will melt in your mouth! Max the owner is so friendly and helpful - he makes his guests feel right at home!
