About this business

The Bookstore Speakeasy is your portal to the 1920s. Behind a nondescript black door bearing only the words "The Bookstore," is a lively bar that hosts a jazz band several nights a week. The decor is in keeping with the theme, featuring vintage accents. Creatively mixed drinks are named with just as much imagination (try the Shirley Temple of Doom).

I have never had a bad cocktail here. They are delicious. Yes, they are a little pricey - but it is worth it. No random syrups or additives that are unneeded. The bartenders are friendly and talented. I rather sit at the bar. The waitresses and hostesses seem to be a little overwhelmed at times, but the bartenders seem to always have it together. Plus, the food is a little overpriced and not worth the splurge.

Sweet potatoes are one of the few foods I just don't like. Somehow, the Bookstore Speakeasy made these chips out of sweet potatoes that I LOVED. I didn't know it was possible. Also got the Tuesday Brunch drink which was great. Pulled pork and pierogies also fantastic. Service was wonderful with a lively, friendly trio of bartenders.

I'm in love with this restaurant. My fiancé and I went here to celebrate out engagement/buying our first house and he is a huge jazz fan. It was romantic but upscale. I am always recommending this place. We will always be back

Hillary was an awesome bartender and it was only her second day at the bookstore..... She looked better than the veteran.
