About this business

The Bookstore Speakeasy is your portal to the 1920s. Behind a nondescript black door bearing only the words "The Bookstore," is a lively bar that hosts a jazz band several nights a week. The decor is in keeping with the theme, featuring vintage accents. Creatively mixed drinks are named with just as much imagination (try the Shirley Temple of Doom).

Dark, romantic, perfection. The Bookstore does a superb job of bring dying art forms back to the life they deserve. The delicate, little intricacies provide the perfect atmosphere to toss pretty ideas around the dimly lit tables. The music is incredible, and the hosts are warm and inviting. Thank you for such an amazing spot.

Terrible experience this past Saturday night. Our reservation was for 7:45. We never got seated until after 8:30. The reservation desk was actually sending patrons over to Molly's ( a bar up the block) telling them they would call them when their table was ready. Once seated, our service was poor until we were "adopted" by a neighboring waiter. There are too many other restaurants in the area to waste our time and money at this one.

First time I was there, im now hooked the portions are nice I like to eat all my food, take nothing home. The drinks fantastic. I will be going back........ for the people that gave it one star, because of a band or its to dark you have no class, its a speakeasy. Grow up! Do research band is playing, support local music 2 dollars is nothing. Have a wonderful day

Best custom cocktails in the area, hands down. The food is exceptional, and the ambiance takes you back in time. The restaurant during live jazz is as much an experience and show as it is a meal, with a quality that could easily hold its own in a major city.

My husband and I decided to give this place a try before a show at the Sands. What a fantastic place!! The food was great, the service was wonderful, the atmosphere is so unique, and of course, the cocktails! Too many to choose so you must go back many times to try them all! Great place!
