The Bookstore Speakeasy

About this business

The Bookstore Speakeasy is your portal to the 1920s. Behind a nondescript black door bearing only the words "The Bookstore," is a lively bar that hosts a jazz band several nights a week. The decor is in keeping with the theme, featuring vintage accents. Creatively mixed drinks are named with just as much imagination (try the Shirley Temple of Doom).

Love this place. Great cocktails, trad jazz and lighting. Bar tenders kill it every time. Defenately going back next time I'm in Bethlehem.

Drinks, food and service were all great! Not bad pricing compared to other restaurants and we were very happy to find that 3 of us could share 2 entrees- we left full, not stuffed! But what we really enjoyed was the unique atmosphere including the drawer full of poems at our table! Would definitely recommend to others!

Another take on the speakeasy theme. The Bookstore isn't quite as "purist" about alcohol (they have beer and - egads! - vodka!) as other places, and with the live music, it is definitely not a quiet place. But it still has got a great vibe, the decor and atmosphere are more authentic, the food is good, the service outstanding and the cocktails excellent! Quite the gem in Bethlehem.

This place is alright. Waitress sucked forgot to get a drink and only came back once to check on our table. Out of two specials by 8. Got a victory dirt wolf 12 ounce for $6 any other bar you get the same beer in a 16 ounce glass. Won't be back anytime soon.
