The Bookstore Speakeasy is your portal to the 1920s. Behind a nondescript black door bearing only the words "The Bookstore," is a lively bar that hosts a jazz band several nights a week. The decor is in keeping with the theme, featuring vintage accents. Creatively mixed drinks are named with just as much imagination (try the Shirley Temple of Doom).

I expected so much more than what it really was. I ordered the pasta, the only thing on the menu I didn't hate. It said it was a small platter so I expected it to be around $10 because there was no price and all it said was mp. The pasta was horrible and we when received the bill, it was $25 for just the pasta. But oh, the waiter just "forgot to mention it". Going in there I did not expect to be spending $50 on an awful meal. I gave two stars because I liked the aesthetic, but other than that I am never going back.
My lady and I only came for drinks and snacks. The staff is awesome, but Max the Mixologist is the best. World Class mixing from and awesome guy... Max you made me an awesome twist on a Vodka Cranberry!!!
This was such a quaint spot with an incredible atmosphere. The food was delicious and the drinks were incredible.
I heard such great things about this restaurant, so my expectations were pretty high. My husband & I had dinner there last night. The hostess was super nice & friendly, our waiter was ok. The on-line menu offered a seafood dish mixed with scallops, shrimp & mussels, but there was a different menu when we got there which I was bummed about. We finally decided on the short ribs & pork chops, but they were out of them... You are only offering 6 Entrees on your menu, but you are out of 2 of them, seriously?! Drinks were good, bu... read more
First time there and it was amazing!! It's like stepping back in time. Food was delicious especially the octopus! Will definitely do a return visit!
Such a cool place. I read complaints about it being too dark and too noisy - Ignore them - it has a wonderful atmosphere! The drinks were amazing, (especially the William Henry Pratt, which has egg white mixed in!). The fries were amazing, as were the filet, short ribs, salmon and the Rueben. Our server, Amy, was also helpful with drink suggestions, and she was just really pleasant! Do yourself a favor and get to The Bookstore Speakeasy!
We had a gift card and decided to go last night. Best pork chop I had ever had, my hubby had the roast. Everything was perfection, the ambiance and the food and the drinks. We will certainly be back soon!!
OMG! I can't even begin to describe what an amazing time my husband and I just had! If we didn't have IMAX tickets to Star Trek, we would not have left! We didn't have reservations, so we were sat at the bar, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The bartenders Ryan, Neil & Max were unbelievably phenomenal! What chemistry! And they interacted with us the entire time. The cocktails were out of this world! The food was amazing! We already made reservations to come back while we're up here for the Runner's World weeken... read more
