In 2007 I took my then new born son to LBJ because he was looking pale. As a new mom we always tend to worry about the smallest things. I worried why my sons eyes were starting to look yellowish instead of white. I was sent back home and told he was fine. I went back the next day because he didn't look fine. After a year of searching for help, a new local EP suggested I make the trip from Ohio to see Dr. Hughe D. Allen. So I did just that. Unfortunately Dr Allen was sick for my appointment on 4/6/17 so I saw Dr Wilson Lam instead. Dr. Lam had some pretty big shoes to fill as I know Dr. Allen from childhood and know that Dr A is an amazing dr! Well, Dr. Lam surpassed all my expectations. We spoke for about 3 hours! If it wasn't for this place and these dedicated and talented people I wouldn't be holding my little girls hand while I type this. I absolutely love you all.
Extremely long ER wait, approximately 8 1/2 hours before we were called to see a DR. Once back there, the DR chose not to do any tests or check anything. Instead chose to just look at the paperwork we had brought from another hosptial to make a diagnosis. It then took another 3 1/2 hours for them to finally discharge us and give us back our paperwork! We were told this was the best place to go. If this is the best, then I would hate to see the worst!
I love this hospital and all of its staff has been wonderful to my son and family.
We love TCH! We can't speak highly enough about Texas Children's and the Liver Transplant team. We appreciate all of the staff, nurses and doctors who answered our questions and treated us like family. The quality of care is excellent.
