What an amazing Doctor and staff! Everyone was attentive and kind. I was treated with courtesy and compassion. I would recommend Dr. Akerman to my family and friends without hesitation. In fact, he was recommended to me by a good friend.
About 1 week before the colonoscopy, the doctor sent me questionnaire. In my answers, I clearly mentioned date of my previous colonoscopy, which was 5 years ago. After submitting my answers, I asked doctor's assistants if my colonoscopy was a screening colonoscopy, and all of them said yes. I also called the health insurance company, and they said that screening colonoscopy is covered up to once a year. After colonoscopy, I received an EOB saying it was not covered. I have been having issues with my digestive system for quite some time. I finally decided to see a specialist and Dr. Akerman was phenomenal. He was extremely kind, respectful, and knowledgeable. He took the time to hear my concerns and provided feedback or inputs, giving me the peace of mind I needed by making me feel I was taken care of. I will definitively recommend him. I have cancer and was admitted to the hospital for a blockage in my liver. Dr Akerman performed a miracle and I am back on track. He was caring and spent time explaining everything. I truly believe that he looks at all aspects before doing anything. His team was fun and also very caring. I can without a doubt say that he saved my life!
