I went to see Dr Akerman after my daughter switched from her old GI. She loved him, his manner and thoroughness and I found that to be true as well. A doctor that calls you personally after your colonoscopy to check on you is a find in my book!!
I’ve been with Dr A for almost a year. He addresses my concerns and when I’ve been resistant to treatment he has listened to me and gone above and beyond to make sure I’m doing the right thing for my Crohn’s. He’s accessible and laid back and a nice guy. I’m lucky to have in my corner.

Dr. Akerman was communicative with my wife and I prior to the procedure (going over the procedure, what was going to happen, what he was going to do), and after the procedure (explaining the results and answering all our questions). His office was very professional and efficient in setting up the appointment for the procedure.
