Dr. Akerman is an excellent MD. He is patient and caring, and he’s a fantastic listener. I highly suggest calling his office an appointment if needed.
Dr. Akerman is the best! I have cancer and was sent to him by my oncologist as a BRCA2 patient. He did my colonoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound as preventative measures. I was then in the hospital for pancreatitis and was so happy to the the hospital I had my own GI team! They have seen me through all sorts of things and have been wonderful!
Dr. Akerman has been most helpful assisting me manage chronic issues I have post Stage 3 rectal cancer. Survivor, 13 years and counting!
Dr. Akerman and his Staff are compassionate and efficient. Office is a pleasure to visit and procedure was quick and easy.
I had my first preventative colonoscopy last week since I recently turned 50. Dr. Akerman has an excellent reputation, not only from other patients of his but amongst the medical community so I was confident in my choice of GI doctors. When I met him before the procedure, he was friendly, informative and knowledgable. I had quick results and follow-up. I highly recommend this physician.
Dr. Ackerman office staff was very pleasant to work with and Making sure I was as comfortable as possible during my short wait. Once I discussed my problems I was having with Dr. Ackerman and the procedures I needed to have preformed it was easily understood by the was he explained it. I had 4 people who have had digestive issues all say ... read more
Dr. Akerman moved his practice and I was about 5-10 minutes late (but called and let them know), and he was extremely rude, abrupt, unprofessional, and recommended further testing at Medical City Hospital but said he didn't have time to explain. He also recommended an MRI without checking my records to find out I had already had one less than a year for same problem. His medical assistant was very rude when I called to inquire about sending me to an unnecessary exam. I will never go to this physician again. I also wrote a co... read more
Business response:
I understand that sometimes we can all run late to an appointment. If that occurs, we ask that patients call to let us know and based on that day's schedule we'll either accommodate or reschedule the appointment if it would impact other patients already present. Regarding this review, I have no record of a patient call during a clinic session as is described. If this is a real patient, please call the practice and I would like the opportunity to discuss your concerns. Thank you - Dr. Akerman
Excellent communication, thoroughly explains his approach and expected outcomes. I especially appreciated his quick response to questions and status via messages. Thank you!
Dr. Ackerman is amazing! He was so informative and discussed with me my condition and upcoming procedures. He made me feel comfortable and involved.
