Horrible insurance company. After receiving approval for a prior authorization to see my out-of-network provider in-network, Aetna refuses to process any of my claims as in-network. I am told they will re-process one of the claims I called about as in-network one day, but when I call the next day about other claims, they claim the provider is out-of-network and have no knowledge of the prior authorization approval, even though I can see the approval for the provider listed online in my account. Terrible insurance. The worst insurance company ever. They provide your Physician with an approval for a procedure then decide they don’t want to pay. We have appealed this 3 times. Every time they come up with a different excuse. In the past 7 months I have called many times and only once has an individual been helpful. A few times I have even been hung upon. Terrible, they keep giving the company that I work for and telling people we are *****. I have called, emailed faxed, requested for 3 years and they continue to do it. We are a busy company and we have to keep answering calls from Aetna thinking we are quest

I gave birth to my son in January and since then it has been a process dealing with the hospital and getting everything squared away (it is now July). I’ve called Aetna multiple times and all the representatives have been great at helping me. I recently received a bill for over 700$ that didn’t make sense to me. I ended up having to three way call the hospital with the Aetna employee Jhonna. The fact they are getting a one star review on average every other day is very telling. As a dental provider we have been trying to drop our in-network status with them SINCE JANUARY 2ND 2023. Each attempt at speaking with provider relations results in a new ticket being created and a promise of escalation with a return phone call in 60-90 days. Not only is that unethical, considering as a provider we have filing limits and have to remain compliant in 60 different ways daily, but it's also a complete joke. I have gotten nowh... read more

Insurance is meant to cover a portion of expenses. I have been paying over $300 every month for health insurance. I did not receive any sort of coverage for physical therapy, x-rays, MRIs, and any medical necessities that followed. When I had asked providers if they accepted my insurance, they ensured that I was covered. To my dismay, I am left paying the entirety of the bill. The worst provider ever! They deny everything and the appeal process is a joke. After 2 denials for a hip replacement, I was forced to file for 3rd party review. Thankfully the outside review reversed the denial. Aetna will not tell you if your claim is actually reviewed by an appropriate physician I.e., Having a hip replacement? It should be reviewed by a Board Certified Orthopedic!! And don’t even get me started on customer service!! Aetna should be investigated for bad business practices.
