HORRIBLE customer service. Every time I call them I spend hours trying to get a simple question answered. The automated system SUCKS and brings me in circles until I button smash my phone or yell "representative." Then when you FINALLY get put on with someone, they are completely useless. I prefer not to call customer service for any company but sometimes I have a question that isn't in their FAQ or a question their chatbot can't answer so I want to speak to a human to explain my issue. Aetna seems to be priding themselves on extending the pain and suffering of those that are conscripted to their services, while riding on a stock price high. I have a nurse case manager who is calling me about my spinal fusion denials (because anyone who can actually approve or affect an outcome won't) and I was told that if I go through 6 weeks of physical therapy (DON'T MISS A SINGLE SESSION!!) that I would qualify for surgery. Worse insurance ever. They pre approve a procedure only to deny afte you had it done. You call to Speak to an agent and not one person knows anything. I do not and should not have to Spend over 2 hours with an agent. Not one employee is crossed trained. Once I get the letter I’m the mail after the fact. I research their Doctor who signed off on the denial only to be in shock they are not qualified to make that decision. I wish I could choose another insurance agency. But unfortunately they are the only option through my employer. There’s no care in health care here. Agents on the phone are very nice, but trying to get the care my family needs is painful. It requires many phone calls and emails just to get the information we need. And every person has a different response. It’s so frustrating not to get the help we need when we need it. So frustrating.

******* senior services lost my payment twice and discontinued my policy without notice. They refuse to give direct phone numbers and email addresses for managerial staff. I feel they are continually stalling as I call them to seek a solution to this issue. I have had to postpone a scheduled surgery due to lack of secure coverage. I will be changing my Medicare Supplement provider as soon as possible. Abhorrent service.

Aetna is the worst insurance i have ever had to deal with. My mother in law, who is 80 years old broke her back in four places. She can’t walk and she is in constant pain. The hospital, 5 different doctors and specialist all are trying to get her a surgery that will restore her back to normal but the insurance keeps denying it. They keep fighting me on my durable medical equipment even though my doctor prescribe’s it and I need it daily. This company is terrible. Time for a change america.

2 years ago, I was having severe pain radiating down my arms. The neurosurgeon had me see and Ortho MD to make sure it wasn't my rotator cuff causing the issue. After MRI,it showed torn rotator. I ended up having both my shoulders replaced and I still have the same issues that has worsened to the point that my left arm was non-functional and my right arm is progressively weakened. Aetna. I signed up for the most health care expensive plan in preparation for my first child being born. Unfortunately that meant I had Aetna. I did everything right. Months before the birth of my child, I called Aetna various times to confirm what my out of pocket cost would be and told them exactly what procedures would be done and at which facility.
