Dr Hughes is a fabulous Doctor and Surgeon. He was very compassionate, caring, considerate, and professional. He always listens to my concerns and takes the the time to let me ask all my questions and he gives me his honest and professional opinion. He is the best and I would highly recommend him to anyone. Thank you Dr. Hughes.
In my experience, a lot of surgeons want to operate, where Dr. Hughes wanted that last and offered other options without asking. Extra points for doing what’s right!
After an hour wait, I was told that it would be an additional 30 minutes before he would see me. There was no emergency patient before me. He packs so many patients into his schedule that he runs behind, but an hour and a half wait is completely unacceptable. No doctor should make you wait that long!
Dr. Hughes provided the most comprehensive orthopedic care I could imagine. Rather than simply being quick with a scalpel, we worked our way through every more conservative option. When those didn’t show the desired result we went to surgery. That’s exactly as it should be! Now, four weeks after surgery I am pain free for the first time in 35 years and fully functional for the first time in 14 months. I could not be more pleased and thanks to Dr. Hughes, I am a 62 year old competitive mountain biker. Thank you, thank you, th... read more
Life saving. I had had a failed surgery in Oklahoma in July 2018 and was in more pain than is imaginable for 7 plus months and I could only walk a few steps at a time. I had lumbar disc bulges plus lumbar spinal stenosis. I had lost hope. I saw Dr Hughes in October 2018 and he assured me the pain would be gone after surgery. He did a 2 day procedure. After the first surgery I was pain free. It was life saving for me, because I knew I could not bear the pain much longer. I have found that spinal stenosis and bulging or burst ... read more
Open to questions and was clear in his answers. Showed me an X-Ray of someone’s back who had surgery to correct spinal stenosis. Most important he was willing and able to talk about treatments other than surgery. His office staff very professional and helpful.
I've had superlative experiences here, under the care of Dr. Steven Hughes and his team. He takes the time to understand and explain your issues and recommends appropriate treatments, starting with conservative therapies first. I would happily place my trust in him again.
Dr Hughes and his staff were wonderful. I thought twice about seeing him based on some of the reviews. However, I felt very comfortable with his diagnosis and how I was treated. Turned out my issue was not cervical but rotator cuff. He referred me to a doctor that specializes in shoulders. I would absolutely go back to him!
Hughes was rude, arrogant, and had no time to listen. He made me feel like I was at fault for having back pain, barely glanced at my images and could care less about my medical history. This doctor exemplifies why I don't like seeking medical help. Never again.
