The Joliet il location next to the mall is the worst steak and shake I have ever been to. The staff is terrible management is a joke food is terrible. The staff doesn't wait on tables right away. Caught grillers spitting in food and using sand paper to sharpen spatula on cooking and prepping surfaces. Stay away from this restaurant
A waitress there spit in my face while she was talking. She was trying to interrupt me and speak over me when she sprayed saliva out her mouth into my eye and all over my face. Then instead of apologizing she tells me it’s been a long day. Then she has someone else serve our table and once we were done which was not long all I could think about is getting home and in the shower, she has the nerve to hover over our table to see how much of a tip she’s gonna get, needless to say I left absolutely nothing, she noticed that righ... read more
Steak n shake can call their customers back when they screwed up an order! Did a web order 2 nights ago and a. didn't have any onion rings for my order. 2. They screwed up my son's western burger with a regular cheeseburger. Called twice. Left my info & never returned my call to fix it.
It’s not even slow and service as much as it’s poor customer service. Like many others we were seated last night and ignored for about 10 minutes. At this point we walked out. Neither server nor manager were very apologetic; we got the have a nice day treatment va the what can we do to make it right solution. Prices are low here... there is a reason for that. You get what you pay for, and that includes the customer service.

Very nice wait staff. Food was also very good! Quick in and out. It is fast food. Shakes are also amazing!
