Undecided Here is my situation. I placed an order about 4 days in advance to ensure my cake would be ready. We agreed that 3:00 was the pick up time. It was to be an oscar the grouch cake using the Oscar pan so it would be in the actual shape of Oscar and then be decorated to look like him. When I got there my cake was not ready. Bad public relations I picked up a 50th anniversary cake along with 120 cake squares. The cake was beautiful. When we started to put in in the back seat, we were told the cake had to be flat, so the lady with me held the boxed cake in her lap. It was a large, 2 layer cake with a 50 on top. We probably went 3or 4 blocks before it looked like the frosting was sliding off the cake. We tried to go ahead but decided picking it up was a bad idea, & returned to the bakery. WASTE OF MONEY THE WORST CAKE I HAVE EVER BOUGHT!!!!!!! I asked if they could make a 3D graduation cap for my daughters graduation party, they said 'no problem' and that they knew how to do that. Went to pick up the cake.... Problem 1: They spelled my daughters name wrong even though it was right on the paper. The lady got mad when I pointed it out to her. Sweet 16 Diaster I ordered a cake from spartan bakery for my daughters 16Th b-day. I picked it up on Saturday July11,2009. It looked great!!! But when we cut the cake and began eating it ... it was really not that good, it had no taste to the cake nor to the icing on the cake, it was very dry!!! I was very disappointed I paid allot of money for this cake, I feel i could have got a better tasting cake from Walmart, or bi-lo I will not buy a cake from them again....This cake was not worth what I paid for it....Very Dry.
If angels baked cakes... ...they'd use Spartan Bakery's recipe. "There must be crack in this cake," a friend of mine once postulated, because she couldn't stop wanting it. Yes, it's that good. I'm generally a vanilla-cake-with-vanilla-icing purist, and their version has ruined me for all other kinds -- a perfect, fluffy cake with the most enigmatically delicious icing you've ever put in your mouth, like eating a vanilla cloud. No joke-A really place. I LOVE Spartan Bakery! My boyfriend and I went in not knowing what we wanted for my birthday cake and they were so helpful and patient. They gave us ideas and respected our opinions. We were in there an hour and not one time did they seem rude, or ready for us to leave. I plan on going back for any cake I ever need they are that great!
A Nasty Taste in Our Mouth I have been a Spartan Bakery customer for many years. In the past twelve years, 90 % of my cakes have come from there. The last experience I had with them will keep me out of there for the next twelve. I ordered my son a Red Velvet cake for his birthday party. Great cakes! Spartan Bakery did our wedding cake and, more recently, our son's first birthday cake. In both cases, I was able to bring in picture and talk one-on-one with staff members to relay exactly what I wanted. Both times, I have been very impressed with their customer service and the quality of their cakes, not to mention their reasonable prices. Highly recommend!

Me and my mom went to pick out a b-day cake for my 14th birthday,a guy insisted that i pick white cake,so i did.......i just read every single comment on this website and i am starting to think my chose over.SHOULD I?and idk what everyone is talking about because the service was great!
