Love the cakes.... I have been going to Spartan Bakery for many years and have always had great service and loved every cake I've ever gotton from there. If I go to a party and Spartan Bakery cake is being served, I can't pass it up. I hate to hear bad reviews because soooo many people love the cake and the icing. It is just a differnce in opinions.
Don't Do It Taste is like dried ocean salt...decorating staff did not wear have gloves...The ones that did wear gloves were so rude....they will not even eat their own cake....what is up with that?
Bad public relations I picked up a 50th anniversary cake along with 120 cake squares. The cake was beautiful. When we started to put in in the back seat, we were told the cake had to be flat, so the lady with me held the boxed cake in her lap. It was a large, 2 layer cake with a 50 on top. We probably went 3or 4 blocks before it looked like the frosting was sliding off the cake. We tried to go ahead but decided picking it up was a bad idea, & returned to the bakery. nasty cake Order a cake form here and it was also very dry. Paid 125.00 for it. I will never order again from them. The cake was thrown away!
Sweet 16 Diaster I ordered a cake from spartan bakery for my daughters 16Th b-day. I picked it up on Saturday July11,2009. It looked great!!! But when we cut the cake and began eating it ... it was really not that good, it had no taste to the cake nor to the icing on the cake, it was very dry!!! I was very disappointed I paid allot of money for this cake, I feel i could have got a better tasting cake from Walmart, or bi-lo I will not buy a cake from them again....This cake was not worth what I paid for it....Very Dry.
AWFUL CAKE DECORATING I ordered my daughters Minnie cake from here, with a picture in tow. Was told they could do it. Got it today, 2nd birthday, and it was ugly! They did an awful job and they had a picture. I should have gone to Publix, or any grocery store for that matter. I cannot comment on the taste because we returned it for a full refund, my husband is on his way there now...way to ruin a child's birthday. I am not hard to please, but if I could have done a much better job than they did, it wasn't worth $5 much less ... read more
Making your "sweet" dreams come true.. Spartanburg Bakery has been located in our area for many years. My family has personally used them for almost every occasion. They have a wonderful staff, offer many selections, and their cakes are to die for. I have never been able to find any other bakery that could hold a candle to their cakes. Many times I find my own family stopping by simply to pick up a few cake sqares for a quick snack. You simply must try them!
