best cake in the south I love their cakes and I would have to say that if you think they are too dry try drinking with your food. Milk is perfect with their cakes. I love the icing and I love the cakes that I get from them. They listen and they do good work. Try their cakes for your self and you just might like them. If you want to try a sample of their cakes get a cake square. They are small and cheap and you can even just buy one. Give them a call they are good
CAN'T BELIEVE IT WAS THAT BAD!!! Was recently at a party (Adults & Children)...the cake was pretty so I asked who made it & Spartan Bakery was the answer. I overheard a little boy who was asked if he liked the cake...he replied "No, it's not sweet enough". I thought, oh he's just a kid, what does he know. A Nasty Taste in Our Mouth I have been a Spartan Bakery customer for many years. In the past twelve years, 90 % of my cakes have come from there. The last experience I had with them will keep me out of there for the next twelve. I ordered my son a Red Velvet cake for his birthday party. Sanitary conditions I have an issue with the person handling my food order using the same gloves to run the cash register and handle money and then once again handling food without changing gloves. Money is the nastiest thing you can touch and not changing gloves after touching it is very unsanitary. This has happened to me each and every time I go to Spartan Bakery. Good cake, terrible staff Spartan Bakery was always my first choice when it came to birthday cakes for my children. I absolutely loved the frosting and I would occasionally go buy some of their cake squares "just because" I wanted some cake. However, I ordered a cake for my husband's 40th birthday and when I went to pick it up the day of the party, the staff had no record of my order. Terrible terrible terrible! i bought the cupcakes here for my baby shower! They was no what I ordered! I was having a boy so I wanted the cupcakes to be blue.. But when I got there they was pink an they said I told them pink but when I showed them the receipt they changed there attitude! I got my money back an never went back! I wouldn't ever go there again an I don't recommend this place to anyone!
Undecided Here is my situation. I placed an order about 4 days in advance to ensure my cake would be ready. We agreed that 3:00 was the pick up time. It was to be an oscar the grouch cake using the Oscar pan so it would be in the actual shape of Oscar and then be decorated to look like him. When I got there my cake was not ready. No joke-A really place. I LOVE Spartan Bakery! My boyfriend and I went in not knowing what we wanted for my birthday cake and they were so helpful and patient. They gave us ideas and respected our opinions. We were in there an hour and not one time did they seem rude, or ready for us to leave. I plan on going back for any cake I ever need they are that great!
