Friendly staff, but careful some may want to be too friendly.
As a Marriott Platinum member we were very disappointed in this hotel. Couldn't find a bellman, valet. We hauled our suitcases in 2-70 pounders and two carry on's .Very crowded at the front desk. No one at the members desk. We finally go checked in. When I slightly complained to a staff member she said Oh Snap! Sorry and walked off....? Then they had the nerve to ask you to pay for drinks in the executive lounge. No where in the world have we ever been ask to pay! We will never return to that hotel.
While every hotel and/or hotel guest encounter challenges, the management staff at the JW Marriott Austin is caring and truly there for their guest!
A clean and inviting facility, but don't plan on sleeping with the downtown partiers roaming the hallways at 3 a.m. For a high-end hotel, it has the poorest external sound insulation of any hotel in which I have stayed. For the cost of the room, you really should be able to get a decent night's sleep.
Room was clean, view was outstanding. However they closed the pool due to 10 minutes of light night. The front desk staff Boti was rude and told my father and I the pool would be closed the rest of the evening/night. We asked him to please check the radar as we had been sitting outside for an hour and there was no rain, thunder or lightning.
