This Company PREYS on ELDERS! My Mother's House is empty ,as she now lives in a ****************** After getting the house ready for selling , we discovered the OIL burner was NOT working in Nov. 2022 just after a SLOMINS delivery. I promptly paid the bill and told the customer service rep that we are having to rebuild the entire Heating system and to PLEASE not deliver any more oil until the rebuild is completed. Left me with no oil because of a 169.00 payment that I had made but did not clear yet. This was the balance due on an oil delivery. The payment is out of my bank account but does not appear in their books They have the slowest billing system in the universe. Meanwhile, I am left with an empty tank and I think they busted the burner. I am seriously considering contacting a lawyer. They breached my contract as far as I am concerned. My household confined to one room with a space heater. I would never recommend this company.
Just recently signed up with Slomins for oil and a one year service contract at the end of November 2022. Worst decision ever. Their list of events that qualify as “emergency” mean nothing to them. I called 4 times to inform them of a soot issue. Each time I called back was because a new issue arose on top of the soot (black smoke from the chimeny, smell of burning plastic/rubber, no heat). I’ve paid 2years of service contracts on my oil burner and have had no service the first year and in the second year they scheduled 4 diffferent time and cancelled every time due to emergency’s that **. If they serviced the burners correctly they would not have so many service calls. They also have no supervisors availible since the all are out servicing burners. That’s also **. This company used to be very reliable. We had an appt scheduled for months to have a cleaning of our oil burner. They did not show up and when we called told us they were understaffed. We had asked for an oil delivery at that time and were told we were scheduled later this month. Well on Xmas day we ran out of oil and they told us sorry maybe can get some to us in 24 hours!!! This company has gone from top shelf to bottom of the barrel in terms of reliability and customer service.
If you’re thinking of choosing Slomins, don’t. We have have been customers since 1998, pay our bills as soon as they arrive, and have contracts for oil and alarms. We thought we could rely on Customer Service. Not the case. Definitely no courtesy for loyal customers. They totally miscalculated our automatic delivery date. This company started billing us by email without telling us. April of this year I had emergency surgery & half my colon removed. Slomin's is now refusing to deliver oil till Friday 3 full days after we paid all owed. They have threatened us if we buy oil from anyone else.
Unauthorized delivery. I was no longer interested in receiving oil deliveries from Slomin after they fell to notify me that my price in oil had changed and did not inform me that my contract had expired. Once I received the bill, I called and said I wanted a cease delivery and do not come to my home without notice. I still had a contract for service of my burner unit that does not expire until March 2023. On 12-5-23, my burner unit stopped working, a services person came out and fixed it and left 11:30 am. At the moment, there are 4 technicians trying to install my boiler, we have no heat or hot water at 9:15pm and have not had it all day long since they started the installation. I attempted to call and speak with a supervisor and "******" was very nasty and unhelpful. She was unable to connect me to a supervisor and says they will call me back when it's my turn. How can you have a boiler installation scheduled at 2 in the afternoon? Horrendous.
