I placed a work order (for service to existing system equipment)To change the batteries in my window/ door contacts and batteries in smoke detectors in late July. It was to be a free service call. 4 days ago my alarm panel went crazy and would not stop beeping. Called to have them dis-engage the system. I had to pull the electric to get it to stop. First, I don't like speaking with customer service somewhere in the *********I moved my shop to a new location, paid $119.00 to have them reinstall my equipment. Paid prior to that installation. Then got billed another $60.00. That wasn't the deal. Besides, had to help the installer. In my prior shop, the installer disconnected power to other devices to plug his in. It took me days to troubleshoot the issues.
Solomons is awful Service man handed me a paper to sign when work was completed It said charges $0.00 And yet they are charging me $89.00 for the service charge I wouldnt have signed anything if there was a charge ! They pull this stuff all the time *************
Slomins is awful and so is their customer service. I have not been happy with my equipment for a while and didnt want to renew my contract when it was up so I bought another system thinking my contract was up. Its not which I understand that I have a responsibility for since I signed the contract. I have called several times over the past month to obtain information about canceling my contract. Very bad in a recent service call (July 19, 2025). A simple temperature pressure vale leak turned out to request us to change the indirect hot water tank which had no visual leak at all. The technician refused to do anything and left. Soon, their sales person called us to sell us their hot water tank, which sounded so suspicious. We called them again to request another service call with a different technician to get a second opinion but turned out to be the same technician. Their billing office is totally unorganized. I cancelled my contract in February 2025. They were scheduled to clean my furnace after my renewal date, so I cancelled the furnace cleaning that I already paid for. Their oil is way overpriced. Once I cancelled my service (to prevent from having to pay for another 1 yr contract), they also cancelled my online account where I was making payments. I had an mini split system installed by Slomins. The work and system was great. the experience after was terrible. They quoted me $13550. I asked the sales *** to reduce it to 13K even. He agreed and then never updated the paperwork. The bill came and it was the first amount. This is a very deceptive business practice and shows what they will do. I will be cancelling my contracts with them because they will not stand by what their sales *** quoted.
I have a Slomins security system. When one of the sensors stopped working, I replaced the battery, but the problem persisted. I called the company and was told that a technician visit would cost /$85. I responded that it was unfair to charge me for service when their monitoring equipment was faulty. They offered me an alternative: if I signed up for a one-year contract extension, there would be no charge.
